Vehicle Detail
I have an awesome 1969 Grand Prix J model waiting for a new owner to restore. This vehicle was kept in dry storage more then it was driven and its in extremely solid original condition. The frame, floors, and inner and outer rockers are all very nice with no issues. The doors, fenders, hood are also nice as well. The areas that will need the most attention are the lower portion of the rear part of the quarters, the filler panel, and the trunk lid. This is kind of a rare Grand Prix because it doesn’t have many power options but it dose have bucket seats, console, power steering and power brakes. It originally had a 400/400 but at some point the engine was switched out with a 71 455 HO motor. Here are the numbers……Casting # 483677 1971 455 HO 4 bolt main early production, Production date L020 December 2 1970, Production # 0068931, Engine code YC, Engine vin Code 21P304554. This motor also has the original heads and intake manifold. The heads are numbered L020 and L030 December 2nd and 3rd 1970. The engine dose run with no knocks or pings but the carb will need to be rebuilt and a full tune up should be done. The turbo 400 tranny is good too but this vehicle is not road worthy. The brakes are low and the radiator, battery and exhaust will all need to be replaced. The interior is very nice but the original AM/ FM radio is missing and the headliner was removed because of sagging. The door panels do have some wear in the usual places but the dash, rug, seats, and console are all very nice with no cracks or alterations. The trim, bumpers, and moldings nice as well with only minimal wear and no major dents or rust. It appears that most of the paint is original with the exception of the left fender, right door, and right quarter. The wheels are snowflake wheels from a 79 Trans Am but look nice and the original spare and jack are also in the vehicle. I have a lot more pics of the engine numbers and underside of the vehicle. Please feel free to send me an email Flip2874@optonline.net and I will be happy to send them and answer any questions or concerns. This auction dose have a reserve but nothing crazy. The vehicle is being sold as is with a transferable NY regi and it will need to be towed because it’s not drivable in its present condition. A $500.00 deposite is due immediately at auctions end via papal and the balance is due with in one week of the auctions end in cash. Also the vehicle will need to be picked up within one week of auctions end. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. Good Luck! On Nov-23-10 at 22:20:48 PST, seller added the following information: I've been getting alot of emails reguarding the motor in this vehicle. All the info about the motor is listed at this link : http://www.yearone.com/yodnn/tech/vehicleinfodecoding/pontiacdecoding/pontiacenginecodes/tabid/323/default.aspx As per Year One the casting number on this block 483677 with the production date code of L020 and engine code YC code represents an early production 1971 455 4 bolt main HO motor that was rated 325 HP. The heads on this motor are dated L020 and L030 and staped 66 on the middle ports 2.11 / 1.77. The intake manifold number infront of the carb is hard to make out but appears to read 481733. I have more photos of the engine and underside of the vehicle available but will need to be sent an email dirrect from your email address to mine at flip2874@optonline.net Good luck if you bid!
