Vehicle Detail

1951 DeSoto Deluxe 2-dr Coupe. New paint, new interior, new tires, new wiring, new lights. Found this DeSoto in a tree row, great body, no dents or rust on body. Had to replace the engine and about half the floor pan. Frame painted, breaks redone, rear end and transmission oil changed. Body remounted with new rubber, also new rubber on all seals of doors and trunk. New window rubber, new channels for windows, new carpet, new seats (totally rebuilt). Inside of veh looks like it just came off the show room floor. Outside, three bad spots. On driver door there appeared a bubble with rust under it. On Left front fender towards bottom a scrape of the paint from a car dolly. Fulton sun visor blow off where towing it in New Mexico, all parts there, but drivers side it bent enough that the paint has cracked, otherwise paint in very good shape. Have an eight volt battery in it, turns the motor over nicely, starts very easy with the help of a manual choke. Got the engine out of a 1951 Dodge pickup truck. It is a 250.6 engine and runs well. Farmer said he had overhauled it the year before. Transmission is the "Tip-Toe" transmission, and it shifts like a new one. I have put on a little over two thousand miles since getting it running. Only had the money left over to have the Grill re-chromed, the rest of the pot metal parts are in pretty good condition, but has pitting on all of it, bumpers have a little fine rust on them. I had to change out the odometer, so the 30238 showing is not correct. The old gauge was so faded from the sun, you could not read it. All gauges work except for the fuel gauge. I rebuilt the sending unit in the tank and it works find. Either I wired it wrong or the gauge itself is bad. I just finished putting the heater in it and it works great. I also have the radio and antenna, but just have not gotten it installed. I would be available to trailer this vehicle to your location for a price.
