I bought this car with a blown head gasket and a glow plug that could not be removed. I have rebuilt three other diesel Rabbits. I rebuilt a motor I had from a 1984 rabbit diesel and installed it in this car in 2004. I have been driving it to work and back ever since then. I put about 7k miles a year on it. The car always starts and runs well. It has all four brand new Les Schwaub tires a rebuilt c/v axle on one side and the brakes are about one year old. The interior is in excellent shape. The top of the dash has some minor sunburn isuses. The car is solid, no rust through only minor surface rust on the door dings etc. There are some minor scratches as to be expected on a almost 30 yr. old car and some of the clear coat is starting to peal on the top surfaces. The drivers door was repaired before I bought the car and it is fading. You can see that in the pictures. The engine does not use or leak any oil. It is very clean under the hood. I get 37mpg around town and when I go on freeway trips I get 45+mpg. This is a solid used car that is very dependable. If you have any questions feel free to email me.
