Vehicle Detail

Anyone who knows Dual Sports know that these are fun, dependable Dual Sport machines. Very robust, with plenty of torque. The advantage of the 650 model is that it is a great 'all-rounder' that can be ridden both on and off-road; it will cruise all day at 70 MPH, but still take well to those gravel secondary roads - and do both happily. This is an 'SE' model, exactly like the new ones being sold at your Suzuki dealership today; the only change I know of since my bike was built is the material of the cylinder base gasket, to resolve some slight 'weeping' of oil where the cylinder meets the crankcase. This bike has never had the engine apart, so it retains the older gasket and thus has 'forward engine oil mist preservation'. You will see a light misting of oil on the engine in between cleanings. The seat was re-done on the bike, because the stock DR seats are torture racks; this seat re-do cost me a few hun, but the bike now has all-day comfort without sitting on 'gizmos' like AirHawks, et al. Just jump on and go. If I bought a new DR, I would KEEP this seat and let them keep the new seat. This bike starts and runs very well; I just rode it a week ago on a 60 mile jaunt. When I got home I changed the oil - so it is fresh and ready to go. Two years ago I rode it to TN and back - about a 1000 mile weekend - when my one of my BMWs let me down with a flat tire the morning we were to leave. Rather than change the tire, I moved my gear to the DR - It jumped up and did the trip over both highways and gravel roads. I rode with guys on bikes costing 5x what this machine costs, and did everything they did - that is the beauty of the DRs! Everything works as it should, and there is enough gas in it for you to ride close to 100 miles. Fresh gas last week. The tires are GPs; the front is good to go for a while, the rear will need to be changed soon; they last about 3000 miles and that's about what I've put on the bike. I have a Cheng Shin dirt rear that will go with the successful bidder when you pick up the bike. If you want me to ship the bike (at your expense and after it is paid for) I will, but the tire will not go with in that case. Just a little incentive for you to be prompt and come help me make room for stuff that is always finding it's way into my garage. This bike is a bit 'famous' with it's BMW logos - I put them on there because I restore BMWs and me and my buddies often had a good laugh about it. The funny thing is - I get thumbs up from BMW folks, and I know for a fact that many of them think the bike is a BMW. Ya gotta have fun when you're riding motorcycles..... This is a NO RESERVE auction, so the first bidder will be in the lead on owning this bike. Look at other DRs, and you will know this is the least you'll likely get into a DR SE for. The starting price has been offered to me on at two occasions locally, but I wasn't ready to sell. I will lose money on this machine at this price, but - you know what they say - time to move on. Of course - I'll asnwer your questions! 937-271-5697 before 9 PM EST. Go ahead - push that button - you know you're gonna have fun...
