Vehicle Detail

1962 Mercury Comet S22 This car runs and drives great. It has factory motor (looks great) and 3 speed manual transmission on the steering column. I stripped the interior of this car and replaced the seats, including a fold out console. All of which fit perfectly and are very comfortable and functional. It has new factory carpet, a new headliner, and recovered door panels. Interior dash and trim have all been repainted. All controls work. New GT steering wheel. New heater box, heat works great. The sound system consists of a Pioneer CD player with 250 Sherwood amp and 2 new 12” sub woofers, tweeters in the dash and Sony 6x9’s in back deck. It also has two neon lights in the trunk wired to the stereo, but can be easily removed if not wanted. Car has a choke so it takes about a minute to let this little sewing machine warm up. I drive it daily, original wheels are 13s and these are 15s so they need spacers because the rub the control arms on turns. I do have the original 13 inch hubcaps you could just put on some black steel wheels for cheap (you may want to fix it or you may not care like me) Car was stripped and painted the exterior of this car with 5 coats of acrylic enamel (Cloud White). Picture shows one bad place on the chrome located passenger door, about four inches long. Easy junk yard fix. $25 or less. Has chrome breather, new hoses and shiny new braided hose covers. New spark advance, fuel pump, water pump, plugs, wires and distributor cap. New air shocks (you can adjust how low/high you would like it to sit in the rear) new gas tank, all new window and door seals, trunk and hood seal. All glass is good. Polished aluminum wheels with new Douglas tires. Car was entered into several local car shows with lots of interest shown. Havent seen in rust issues. Very minor oil leak, never leaks onto the driveway EVER! Body is pretty straight but not laser and it still looks great. This car was done on a budget restoration. The entire car was attended to but no Major money was spent in a full total restoration. Great cruiser/cruise in show car. AWESOME and people love this thing! The Mercury Comet is very rare. Good Luck to you all.
