***1985 Mercedes Benz*** 380 SL Convertible Up for bid is a VERY CLEAN 1985 Mercedes Benz 380 SL (Please note high carfax score and history). I purchased this car in 1999 and have always kept this car garaged, and have taken it out as a weekend cruiser and only on special occasions. Since I purchased this car, I have made the following upgrades, and have changed out the following old and/or worn parts as part of preventative maintenance. All parts that I have used for this car have been original Mercedes Benz and are as follows: New shocks and springs for front and back wheels Brand new fuel injectors and seals Brand new warm up regulator Brand new charcoal emissions filter New windshield water resevoir New fan belts New coolant hoses Brand new radiator Brand new wiper motor housing cover Brand new hood liner and back liner New chrome Grill and star New Turning lenses New speedometer lenses and bulbs Profesionally repainted speedometer needles and temapture guage needle Replaced all burl wood components New chrome door thresholds New windscreen All new courtesy light lenses New floormats New driver and passenger sun visors (old ones were warped and sagging) All new hood emblems and trunk eblems Replaced all factory labels (ex: gas flap labels see picture) New Mercedes Benz Battery New Fuel Pump New Fuel Filter New Catalytic Converter Brand New Brakes and rotors Brand new spark plug wires Brand new Oxygen sensor Brand New Water Pump, and thermostat The car starts up right away and drives strong, shifts smoothly, paint is very shiny throughout and in good condition. There are no tears in the seats or any of the door panels. Being that this car is 25 years old, the following are things that I know about the car that do not work or need to be fixed: The ac does not blow cold air There is a small area on the trunk lid in the top left corner where the paint had cracked and chipped. The back bumper has a small dent and some scratches made by me. I accidentally backed too far into a guard pole After driving the car sometimes you have to press the gas to help it to start, but it does not happen all the time. Car always ends up starting. The Becker radio does not turn on, it used to work, but suddenly stopped. It may need a new fuse, but I am not sure. All other components, motors, etc work on this car, and it is always a pleasure to drive. The suspension is fantastic, and because of the new shocks and springs, this SL does not "Squat" when you accelerate. Also included are 2 factory dealer repair manuals, owner's manual, and Hardtop Key. Please note that being 25 years old, this car is being sold as is, where is, and there is no warranty said or implied.
