Vehicle Detail

Here's a real charmer. This car attracts more attention than any car I've ever owned. People just love it, and everyone has a Rambler story to share when they see you with it. It spent its entire life in the Pacific Northwest until being purchased by an east coast collector a few years ago. I purchased it from him late last summer. I stored it until spring, and then used it as my daily driver all summer. It made the 30 mile round trip daily with no problems. I took it on a couple of 200 mile round trips as well, again with no issues. The car now has nearly 119K miles, and it still runs well. Here are details regarding condition: Body: This car is SOLID!!! Floors, braces and entire underneath are very nice and solid, as is all of the sheet metal and inner structures on this car. The paint is mostly original. The hood and top of front fenders look like they were repainted many years back. The paint on the car still shows well, but it has wear and tear, some thin spots, chips and minor parking lot dings as you would expect on a 50 year old car, but it is straight & solid and too cool to do anything with other than enjoy the patina. There is a small crease on the lower driver's door, and a small dent at the front edge of the roof, both of which I've tried to show in the photos. Also some staining on top of passenger fender, and a very old repair at the inside front edge of the driver's side fender. Engine: Original 196 6 Cylinder with 3 speed manual column shift transmission and overdrive. Car runs good, but it is starting to puff a bit and use some oil. The overdrive works intermittently. I've just kept driving it. I racked up about 3,000 miles over the summer. Interior: Original interior has some wear and tear, but is still quite presentable. Everything is original, with the exception of the front carpeting that someone replaced quite some time ago. Dash pad has some cracks, and headliner has 1 small tear. Everything works except original radio. Previous owner installed an aftermarket AM/FM radio under the dash which works well. Glass: The glass is all good. Front windshield has some wiper burn, and the rear glass has a scrape mark on each side from going up and down over the years. The pictures tell the story best, so I've included a bunch of them. I have a very reasonable reserve on this unique wagon. It would be a great car to do a mechanical rebuild on and just continue driving as is. Original cars are the rage at all the cruise-ins and shows. Don't miss your chance to own this neat old survivor. Winning bidder to make $500 deposit by PayPal within 24 hours of auction closing. Balance by bank check, wire transfer or good old cash upon pick up. Car will not be released until funds have cleared. This can take up to 10 business days, and even wire tranfers take a few days to clear, so keep that in mind. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. I will help in any way I can. I have a shipper who has moved a lot of cars for me, and I can provide his contact information. I also have an exporter near me that can provide quality export service at a very reasonable rate. International buyers are welcome, but payment must be in US dollars, and the car doesn't leave until I'm confident funds have cleared. E-mail if you have questions. You are welcome to inspect and drive the vehicle prior to auction ending. Just contact me to set up a time. Thanks.
