Vehicle Detail
Thanks for checkin out my scout but let me first say I Don't Want The New Buyer To Have Any Surprises When They Show Up To Take The scout Home and ebay only lets me post 24 pictures here so please cut and paste my image shack page in your web browser and check out the 100 large detailed pics i have taken of every square inch of this scout from top to bottom!! http://img829.imageshack.us/g/img2863xx.jpg/ I have taken close up pics of both good and bad because i want this to be a good transaction for the both of us so please ask any and all questions so you know this is the one for you!! Ok with that said this is my sweet little lifted 79 scout offered at NO RESERVE that is driver ready and has no buy it now or early ending auction. BODY/EXTERIOR- Previous owner replaced both quarter panels, end caps, front body mounts, outer and inner rockers and did some floor board work up front. All panels were painted in black rust preventer paint by eastwood during assembly. It was then completely repainted it in a beautiful metallic copper/orange color accented by a solid frost white top. All new seals around front, rear and side windows, gas neck gasket, weather stripping front and rear, new decals from superscoutspecialties, undercoating on underside of body and in wheel wells and lastly a set of polished wheels and bfg all terrain tires were bolted up. INTERIOR- Inside it retains mostly stock since the original dash and seats were very clean to begin with and have just minor wear as you can see on the two front buckets. Duplicolor bed coating was layed down up front to protect the new and original metal from future rust issues. The door panels were sanded down and restored and a very nice little sound system has been installed with cd. Up top a new headliner has been put in along with factory interior side panels and a 1980 scout steering wheel was bolted up to complete the interior. DRIVE-TRAIN- This scout came factory equipped with the 196 4cyl IH motor, t-19 4-speed transmission, dana 44 front and rear differentials with hard to find 4.09 original gears, power disc brakes up fron and power steering. I just had a shop go through the truck and put new ball joints, front rotors, pads, power steering pump, full tune-up, rear brake hardware and wheel cylinders, alignment and oil change to assure it is driver ready for new owner!!:) OTHER IMPORTANT ITEMS TO MAKE NOTE OF- While this truck looks outstanding and gets alot of attention and compliments it is not a show truck it was done to be enjoyed so please see link for pics of next few mentioned items if needed. The body only has two very tiny rock chips in passenger door about as round as pencil led . doors shut like normal but door gaps are not show car perfect along with tailgate gaps, front body mounts and front floor replacement are soild and well done but you can tell they have been replaced, only one one dent or ding found on body and its located on bottom middle of tailgate but no paint damage, rear hatch does latch but i do not have key for t-handle i bought it off here on ebay. The paint looks very nice and to average public is great but im picky so on the orange i would call it driver quality due to some areas having inconsistency in metallic on passenger side ( pics show close ups) and just overall depth of paint, Only one spot of cancer that never got addressed is on floor board right behind wheel well just do to gas lines being located there and its kinda out of site out of mind, but it is in nice flat area that would be easy to cut and fab new piece or buy replacement panel. Right now due to new seals on doors you have to really slam door until those new seals break in but after time they will shut with normal. Last thing i can think of is the drivetrain is mostly original with about 65k on rebuilt motor so expect a little grease and dirt here and there but does not smoke, tick or gush oil. Over all this scout looks very nice, fires right up,drives nice and hasn't been beaten or abused. It is very easy to steer with the light 4cyl up front that gets great mileage and hums right along with those 4.09 gears and bfg tires!! This one is ready to be drivin and enjoyed for many years to come as it sits!! I hope I and all the close up pics have done the job to describe this rig the most true and honest possible!! GOOD LUCK AND REMEMBER NO RESERVE SO IF YOU NEED MORE PICS OR QUESTIONS DON'T HESITATE TO ASK
