Vehicle Detail

zundfolge Store 1985 BMW 745i TURBO e23 This auction is for a 1985 BMW e23 chassis 745i Turbo. These cars were imported into the US by their owners back in the 1980s and it is estimated that there were about 600 of them brought into the country. This car is in very good unmodified original condition. I am the second owner of this car, I have owned it for 5 years. This car has never been in an accident and has spent most of its life in Austin Texas under the care of its first owner. It has been garaged all its life and has never been driven in snow or corrosive conditions. The only rust that I have found on this car is a few paint chips on the left rear door (see photos). The car was repainted about 10 years ago in the original bronzitbeige color because it had spent some time outside during the day in the Texas sun and paint on the roof, hood and trunk was starting to fade. This car has been lovingly maintained its whole life, I have maintenance receipts dating back to about 1994 that total around $17,000 Basically, if a drop of fluid hit the garage floor, wind noise etc the car went to the shop to have it corrected. The same German car shop worked on the car (and several other 745s) the whole time it was in Texas. Everything on the car works. The power seats, windows sunroof and antenna (still has the original Becker Mexico radio) work fine. The cruise control, automatic transmission engine and turbo system are in great shape and all work well. The heating and A/C system work as they did from the factory. The AC is still R12 and has a slow leak, I add about a can of R12 per year, other than that all heating and AC functions work fine. The car comes complete with its original tool kit WITH OE BMW Blue Polishing cloth in like new condition AS WELL as the Original First Aid Kit which is STILL IN THE CELLOPHANE!! Basically this car is a time capsule. If you know these cars and want an unmolested original that is in great shape and has seen the best care all its life then this is the car for you!! I could go on for a long time about the work that has been performed on this car but here are some of the highlights: New Steering Linkage, New rear "dogbones" (or as BMW calls them pittman arms), new differential mount, new rear subframe bushings, full inspection 2 recently performed, new distributor cap and rotor, new coolant and brake fluid, recent transmission and differential service, new ABS wheel speed sensors on all 4 wheels, Recent replacement of all 4 TRX tires (those puppies aren't cheap!), exhaust system is in great shape no holes or rust, no fluid leaks under car (the engine has been re-sealed over the years and the trans is dry too!). I think that most of the rubber moldings were replaced when the car was painted because they are in excellent shape (see pictures) I also have copies of the federalization documents for this car as well as the original owners manual (english edition). If you want to see detailed photos including the underside of the car, please click the link below PAYMENT: I will need a Paypal deposit of $1,000.00 within 24 hours of auctions end. I will accept the balance in a cashiers check (will need to wait to clear) or cash upon pickup. I have the clear Kentucky title for this vehicle in hand.
