Vehicle Detail
2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser 4x4 Up for auction is a great FJ that I gave some personal touches to. It comes with some nice factory options as well as some I added to personalize it. I am selling it basically because it is just sitting in storage not being utilized. It has been there since Jan of this year. I work overseas and spend close to only one month in the states. The FJ is started up occasionally in addition to being driven every four months. It needs to be driven and put through its tests. The last service was just one week ago which was an oil change, fluid checks and tire rotations and all 4 wheels balanced. So here it is up for auction. I will tell you the good and the bad of the vehicle. First, Here is a list of options. From the factory: CQ Convenience Package - Parking distance sensors rear and radar; Privacy tinted glass on rear and side; Driver and passenger power door mirrors indicator lights; Day time running lights; Privacy glass rear and rear side; Rear window with intermittent; Cruise control; Remote power locks; Illuminated entry system on interior OF All-Terrain Package - Front and rear alloy wheels with 16 inch rim diam; Active Traction; Rear differential lock; Heavy duty alternate suspension; Bilstein shock absorbers; Cyclone air pre-cleaner; Inclinometer; Compass; External temperature digital display Protection Package - Undercoating, Paint Sealant, Driver and Passenger window tint. My add-ons: TRD 16" Alloy wheels; graphite; 5 total, Baja Rack roof rack, Tow hitch and wiring, Hella auxiliary driving lights with covers and dash switch, Black housed LED Tail lights; fully functional, K&N Air filter Passenger armrest, Matte Black trim; all corner bumper caps, rear bumper trim, front grille, door handles, mirrors and body colored shifter indicator trim. The mirrors have matte black caps over the the silver originals. This FJ is a great performer off-road as well as on the road. The capabilities are amazing from such a comfortable road vehicle. Most of the mileage has been highway driven. My job and personal life kept me on the road up until Jan of this year. It has been off-road. While on a trip to the Ouachita Natural Forest, I gave it some off-road time. Just on a few trails to engage the 4 high and up nice incline, rock free, to engage the 4 lo. Of course, nothing serious, but never the less, it performed flawlessly. Mechanically this FJ has no issues. It has always been serviced at the local Toyota dealership, All-Star Toyota. Preventive maintenance, oil changes, tire rotations and balancing. The body is free of any damage other than minor dings and scratches barely noticeable. Aesthetically there are a few imperfections. The front corner bumper caps, drivers door handle and the front grille were paint by a non-professional. So, after one year the clear coat and paint have begun to fade. The rear trim and rear corner bumper caps were professionally done. So these are flawless. The passenger door handle and mirror were replaced with the matte black OEM parts. Here's the bad, which I feel is not an issue. But, I want to disclose everything about this FJ, here it is:The right side of the vehicle side swiped a traffic sign at approximately 25 mph. I was a low impact collision with the street sign which broke away, causing less damage. I was avoiding being "T-Boned" at an intersection, which I accomplished, but unfortunately at the expense of hitting a sign : ( There was NO vehicle collision or impact to the FJ by another vehicle or obstacle. I will list all the damage, which seems like a lot on paper, but did appear so bad on the FJ. So, from the passenger door back to the rear bumper had some repair. The passenger door was scraped and dented. The passenger door trim was damaged. The passenger rear clam door was scratched and dented, trim as well. Right rear bumper scratched. Right rear tail light cracked. This all sounds bad, but, like I said, on paper it is worse than it looked. Not all of the right side had dents or needed replacing. But the Body shop wanted everything that had any imperfections, from a dent to a small scratch replaced and/or painted. So, even though the rear bumper was not damaged, it had light scratches and was replaced. Corner bumper trim was replaced and painted matte black as well as the center trim. Passenger door handle was replaced with matte black OEM part. So was the passenger mirror. Both passenger doors were re-skinned and painted. And new trim was ordered for the whole right side. Like I mentioned it was not a "collision," but a low speed impact with a street sign. So, no issues with the vehicle other than the cosmetic repairs. I mentioned that the front grille, front corner bumpers and driver's door handle are fading. This is what I will do for the winning bidder. I was going to have this done regardless of sale, but I wanted to list this as soon as possible. For the winning bidder I will have those items professionally painted. The door handle I will replace with an OEM matte black handle (non-painted). There is a lien on the FJ, since it is financed. The lien is with my Credit Union. I have been dealing with them for many years and they are easy to work with. The pay-off will me less than the winning bid. The winner will be given all the information necessary to make the transaction smooth, so the FJ can be transfer to the winner with no issues. I will provide any help needed to make this transaction effortless! I tried to mention everything about this FJ. I feel after you see the pics of this original looking FJ, you will see that the imperfections I mentioned weren't even worth mentioning and that they do not affect the performance, reliability, or capabilities of this FJ! Thanks for visiting my auction Ebayer. Good luck and happy bidding! I WILL ADD MORE PICS SHORTLY. *****SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF BUYING OR FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH YOUR BID * A $500.00 DEPOSIT IS DUE WITH-IN 24 HOURS OF WINNING BID. THE REMAINDER BALANCE IS DUE WITH-IN 72 HOURS AFTER DEPOSIT.**** On Oct-21-10 at 16:00:34 PDT, seller added the following information: PICS ADDED****A FEW ITEMS I LEFT OUT I WANTED ALL TO KNOW**** Nothing major...There are two cracks and one chip on the windshield. All have been sealed and will not run or get larger. These have been there of 1 year now and no issues. Someone shot a staple into the spare tire side wall. It has been plugged. I didn't replace it since it happened just before I left at the end of last year. Last item of concern, there are a few "speckled" areas around the front left fender where the painted was chipped by rocks from the highway. I didn't realize this happened until I washed it. I believe it was from a gravel truck driving in front of me on the highway. All is posted and showed in my recently added pics. As well as some nice shots of the great things about this FJ! Thanks! I also have the original manuals in case, two sets of keys, plastic key, cargo net for Baja Rack (large), and a OEM fog light switch that I never installed. This switch fits into the dash to give the lights a factory look. All it needs is the wire adapters for the switch. On Oct-21-10 at 16:11:39 PDT, seller added the following information: I also have the caps for the roof rack mounts if you decide to remove the rack. The spare center cap will be included as well. It doesn't fit on the wheel when mounted on the rear of the vehicle. On Oct-21-10 at 16:32:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is a link to some more photos of the FJ. http://www.vuvox.com/ebay/motors/detail/02febc0e76 On Oct-21-10 at 17:11:56 PDT, seller added the following information: Actual mileage is 27,687. FJ will be driven, so mileage will differ with in the next 6 days. It will have to make a trip to Austin, TX. It is roughly 720 miles round trip. I will try not to add more than 1,000 miles to the odometer. The FJ is still under manufacturer warranty. It has roughly 1yr or 8,000 miles left on existing warranty. Sorry for this, but my DL will expire at the end of this month. It is a TX DL and I need a valid DL before heading back overseas. On Oct-22-10 at 10:52:05 PDT, seller added the following information: A new windshield will be installed on Monday, the 25th. Shortly after that, the front grille and front corner bumper caps will be repainted professionally. I will keep everyone posted. On Oct-25-10 at 11:58:21 PDT, seller added the following information: ***Everyone interested in this FJ. The auction will end as scheduled, but I will not be able to finalize the deal or have winning bidder pick up the FJ until 15 November 2010. My job is requiring me to head back overseas earlier than planned. I will have to leave on 27 Oct, which is this Wednesday. I will not be able to hand over the FJ until I return. I will be out of country for approx 2 weeks. All items I stated that will be fixed on the FJ will be done before I depart. The FJ will not be driven, it will be stored during this period.*** ***PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU CAN NOT ACCEPT THESE TERMS*** I appologize, but this can not be avoided.
