This car is the last of the good 7 Series. I am a BMW Master Technician and have been the ONLY person taking care of this car since it had 15,000 miles. It was purchased at the dealer I worked at as a BMW Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in 2003 by a friend of mine for his mother. I did all the warranty and service work on schedule during and after CPO using only genuine BMW parts. Brake and coolant flushes on schedule, synthetic oil changes every 5k. I installed a Euro armrest in place of the cheesy phone, swapped the CD Nav for DVD and tinted the windows with 20%. I always told him if they ever decided to sell the car to let me know, two years ago he did. I love the way this car looks and drives, and I don't want to sell it, but one person does not need five cars. The car has a lot going for it, unlike most other 7's, there is NO work that needs to be done. The transmission was replaced at 156k with a genuine BMW transmission from the dealer. The other big ticket item on V8 BMW's is the timing chain rails. If you are looking at a car that these have not been replaced on, count on it at a cost of $3k or so. Last year I replaced all four chains, all rails, all tensioners, belts, hoses, gaskets, alternator - anything removed was replaced. I also replaced the front thrust rods, rear ball joints, rear toe arms, all four pads and rotors in the last year. It has a set of ContiExtreme DWS tires with 1/2 tread or more. I had no intention of selling this car. This car is offered with a reserve, and is for sale local. I don't "need" to sell, and will not let it go for a lowball price. Being in the BMW service industry, I see how much these cars sell for, and what kind of shape they are in. The timing chain, transmission and suspension alone cost over $11k when they need to be replaced. It is a true sport package car, with the wheels, different gear ratios, springs, seats and three spoke steering wheel. It is in excellent condition. There are some scratches on the rear bumper that I will have repaired. The car was involved in two parking lot accidents, one five years ago and one two. It was fixed to a very high standard. I would not hesitate to let anyone drive this car anywhere. I'll pick up the winner at the airport here, Knoxville, TN (TYS). Buyer is responsible for any and all fees or taxes, there are no fees on my side - you pay and drive away with the title. If you don't like the car, you don't have to buy it.
