The Good: In my opinion, this vehicle runs, drives, shifts, and stops. The low beam headlights work, as do the blinkers, brake and lower running lights. The horn, windshield wipers, and heater blower, Temp Gauge, Alternator Gauge, Speedometer and Oil Pressure Gauge all work as well. The Tommy lift Gate works Great as does the Roof Air-Conditioning which runs of household current. It has many new or newer parts like the Tires and Wheels, 2 new batteries, Hoses, Alternator, Rear Wheel/ Brake Cylinders, New Stereo, New set of Running Lights, Hurst Transmission Shifter, Transmission Cooler, Locking Gas Cap, Solar Battery Charger, and Electric Radiator Fan for extra cooling (it still uses the factory belt driven fan too). Recent fluid and filter changes as well as a lube job. There are racks, peg board, workbenches, over workbench lighting and padded flooring in the back but they could be easily removed if desired. The Bad (or the to be expected from a 37 year old vehicle): When I bought the vehicle over 1.5 years ago I was told that the gas gauge did not work, so every time I drove it I would just take it down to the gas station and throw 10 or 20 bucks in it. However, a few months ago I was straitening out some under dash wiring and decided to put juice to a wire which came out of the gas gauge and it showed 3/4 of a tank; I was never able to ascertain whether or not it was working right though. There is also a leak coming from the transmission which will require a pint or two of fluid added after about a month of sitting still. I noticed that the passenger rear wheel brake cylinder was leaking the last time I drove the vehicle and I bought two new rear wheel cylinders but haven't installed them. The factory transmission shifter will slip from park into reverse at times when sitting, once it is in drive it seems to stay put, but it was worrying me so I bought an after market Hurst floor shifter which still needs to be installed as well. When starting the vehicle cold the accelerator needs to be fanned a little till it gets warmed up. I also attempted to tighten a loose nut on the exhaust just below the manifold which twisted right off, so that will need to be replaced with a new stud, hence there is an exhaust leak. The upper, meaning roof, running lights do not work either front or back, but the lower ones do. I have a new set of running lights which will go with the van. The second new battery, which is one the size that would run some of the bigger commercial trucks would need to be hooked up if you wanted to use it to run some of the accessories; it does come with a battery case/holder and the wiring terminals, but you would need the wires & solenoid, etc. Most of the driving that I did with this vehicle was in the first 6 months of owning it therefore you should know that it has been sitting for about a year; started about every four weeks and brought up to temp and driven on rare occasions primarily just to move the lube around. The body has some surface rust (but is very solid), some bad body filler work around the front headlight area, and there are some dents and dings, etc. I have ran a 1968 and 1976 vehicle across country with similar issues, at every pee and gas stop I'd check and top off the fluids. It was tedious, but it worked. However, I cannot say that this vehicle will make a cross country journey without issues, nor am I saying that it won't have issues in 10 miles. With vehicles who knows! I have had new vehicles which had issues and old ones which just kept on a chugg'in along forever, it seemed. I am Not a mechanic so please note: *** This Vehicle is AS-IS, Where-IS. NO Guarantees or Warranties Expressed, Written, or Implied. *** *** Please Ask any Questions before bidding. I was using it as a mobile workshop/storage. But it could just as easily be used as a toy hauler, Mega Van / Motor home, or ???
