Vehicle Detail
2005 Volkswagon Passat GLS TDI, gray leatherette with wood trim, one lady owner, 89,950 southern miles, almost always garaged, minimal dings from parking lots, serviced regularly. This is a really hard to find TDI wagon with very low miles for a diesel VW of this year, averages 34+ MPG yet it can carry what you need to. This is my mom's car, she just bought a Cadillac SRX and doesn't need two cars. She bought this Passat 9/10/04 from Pipkins Motors VW in Valdosta, GA for $27,045.00, original bill of sale and window sticker in the manual book. She lives in Naples, FL and visits NW FL so this car has never seen snow, salt, slush, etc. and a good deal of the mileage is highway driving on I-75 and I-10. The pictures are of the car w/o any detailing or prep, just a wash, they are honest and represent the car as it is with no Armor-all, polish or any of the other tricks that make cars look better than they are. The interior only had personal items removed (hand sanitizer, gum, maps, etc) so you can see how the car has been cared for. The leatherette interior is in great shape except for one mark on the driver's side back seat where there is a small stain that might clean off (see pics), carpets are in really good shape showing only normal use w/ no threadbare areas and only very minor marks. The only other noticeable flaw is the driver's door inside handle that is a little dirty, it will probably clean up with the right product. No accidents ever, no paintwork ever, no major mechanical problems ever. The tires are basically new (less than 1000 miles) Yokohamas and the oil was recently changed using full synthetic. Has both keys, optional 17" wheels, sunroof and cargo rails on the top. I was reading the window sticker and just discovered the car has leatherette instead of leather, it's the GLS package with a number of convenience features but the only option is are the 17" alloy wheels. About heated seats: The window sticker's Special Features includes 'Heatable Driver and Front Passenger Seats' so I originally listed it as having heated seats. Since then there have been several questions about this and I've looked more closely for heated seat switches, found none and now see in the Options section there is 'Cold Weather Package- Credit -$325'. I suspect the dealer deleted the cold weather package thinking it was unnecessary for sale in the Deep South. I'm sorry for the confusion I created. Though there are service records not all were saved by mom and some are thought to be at her home in S. FL, others just never made it into the glovebox. I have changed the oil a number of times, the fuel filter a few times and replaced the battery once so there are no receipts for those services. Repairs/service in the last few months include:- New Yokohama tires in the last 1000 miles- oil change w/ synthetic oil- new glow plugs- left CV boot replaced Repairs/service records in the glovebox include:- oil change 12/04- oil change, fuel pump & filter, cabin filter 3/05- oil change, 20k service 2/06- oil change 8/06- 30k service 12/06- oil change, brake light switch 2/07- A/C relay 4/07- right CV boot replaced 12/07- oil change 2/08- oil change 9/08- oil change 4/09- oil change 10/09 There are a few things the car needs, primarily the 90k service which is the usual oil change and inspection plus replacement of the timing belt. A local VW shop I spoke with suggested replacing the water pump and serpentine belt at the same time as a preventative measure. At the last oil change it was noted that the right axle seal had a slight leak and a small amount of lubricant was added, I would replace the seal at the 90k service if we were keeping the car. I've been asked about what this service might cost but I encourage you get a ballpark figure from you local dealer or VW specialist as the figures I got varied quite a bit depending on if you just replaced the timing belt or did the preventative things as well. Please ask any and all questions, I encourage you to come take a look at this car as you'll be glad you did. If you'd like more pictures or info just ask. Email me for contact numbers, I've learned my lesson about putting my phone number on an Ebay Motors auction! And please, I'm not interested in advertising in your fine publication, brokerage service or online listing... Payment must be $500 deposit by Paypal within 24 hours of auction ending, remainder as certified or cashier's check when picking up the car. Please remember your bank must be open so that we can verify the check, I'm sorry but there are just too many scams out there with bank checks these days. Another method of payment would be to wire the funds or, should you bank at Regions or Wells Fargo, we can complete the transaction at the local branch.
