For sale I have a nice and very rare 1987 Ford Ranger 4x4 , 2.3L Turbo Diesel 4 cyl. engine ( factory installed Mitsubishi diesel engine ) , with the upgraded factory 5 Speed manual transmission . As options it has P/S , P/B , cruise control, radio, engine oil cooler , block heater , chrome grille-mirrors-moldings , rear step bumper , NO A/C .The interior is in very good condition and the exterior too , with the normal scratches and dings common for a truck with this age. Minimal superficial rust on some scratches with the exception of the bed rear wheel well edge lips which have some rust around them, a very common problem area for these Rangers , paint is still shiny , and the body is still solid and in excellent condition , as well as floor pans , cab corners and rockers . Recently I replaced the water pump ($400) , thermostat , antifreeze , oil changed and new diesel fuel filter. The timing belt was inspected while the mechanic was changing the water pump and it looks like the previous owner changed it not too long ago, but I can't guarantee how long ago. All gauges seems to work as well as the speedo and odometer ( 5 digits) which reads 34,000 miles, so probably went around at least once I imaging . All glass is very good and there is a rear sliding window . Tires hold air but they need to be replaced due to they are dry cracked , so the truck needs to be shipped or towed with a tow dolly or a trailer due to the tires. The truck starts , runs and drives very good , but it is sold "AS IS " . Please don't ask me if you can drive it to Minnesota ,California , Florida ,etc , because even the truck runs good , it is a 23 years old truck and any unexpected breakdowns can happens on a long trip with any 23 years old vehicle , I'm sure it will make it wherever you go but you will be doing it at your own risk and expense . It averages 35- 40 MPG and it makes sense to own a 4 cylinder diesel truck ,since crude oil was going up again for last 3 weeks in a row, so don't get caught with the pants down , you also can run it on Biodiesel if you wish. Factory Service shop manual and bed floor rubber mat (shown in last picture next to truck ) included with the sale as well as a full tank of fresh diesel fuel .
