Vehicle Detail
I am offering one of my 1978 Scouts for sale ... it has a sick 400HP (dyno tested) 350 Chevy motor out of an '86 Corvette. Here are some of the goodies: 3/4" Lift GM Hot Cam, Holley 4 Barrel carb, Dart Iron Eagle Cylinder Heads, Custom Dual Exhaust w Headers, 2600 RPM stall convertor, B & M slap shifter, Aluminum Intake, Custom Drive Shafts from Stone Heavy Equipment, 4" Suspension Lift. New Borgenson Steering joint, New Battery, New Alternator, Mallory Ignition, new water pump, engine compartment refurbished with new inner fenders, recored radiator, new belts. Dana 44s front and back, 3.54 gear ratio, Chevy Corvette tranny, Dana 20 transfer case. Has dark gray, leather seats and console out of a Porsche 911, roll bar from a SS II, rubber SS II fender flares, 33 x 11.5 x 15 Dunlop Mud Rovers on Chrome Ford wheels (look good), 9000lb Warn Winch and Winch bumper, Grant steering wheel, push button start, rear fiberglass quarters, nice black carpet kit installed, very minimal rust ... some along front wheel wells driver;s side body mount, but VERY minimal for non-restored Scout. Comes with new black bikini top (original hard top in decent condition also included.) All lights work, starts every time, current NC inspection and clear title. I have too many Scouts and pickups and want to spend my time and money elsewhere. This is a monster Scout and you would spend a fortune trying to put a nasty 350 motor in an old Scout. This is a turnkey Scout with very few issues ... just needs some TLC ... if I were going to keep it, I would take the inner door panels off and clean up the window regulators and redo the door panels. I would also give some TLC to the appearance of the tranny and shifter cover, but nothing that couldn't be done for less than $100 and a weekend. If I don't get a good offer, I will redo the interior myself in a weekend. This is a powerful, nasty Scout and not something for a first time Scout owner. It will get down the road right now and is in daily driver condition. I have owned many, many Scouts, and this is a solid one ... not a $2000 rust bucket with a bunch of problems. This beast is for sale locally and I reserve the right to accept offers and end the auction at any time. Will consider partial trade on any decent IH Scouts.
