We remember in the 50’s and 60’s the car mileage was the key indicator of car’s condition. However due to the development and introduction of superb synthetic oils, fuel additives and digital high precision design / machining in the early 90’s, the car’s maintenance / service, lubricants and upkeep become the prime key indicator of the car’s condition. Thus we see now fleets of cars superbly maintained that run like new and show no or little wear in excess of 300K miles. This has also been proven on dynamometer tests run by major oil and car companies.
