You are bidding on a 1987 Mercedes Benz 560 SEL. This is a well preserved example of this car, in nearly perfect original condition, surely one of the finest on the market anywhere. Vehicle condition inside and out is excellent. The running condition and chassis performance are perfect. It is an excellent daily driver which could easily be a show car...it is in nearly concours condition. The vehicle is covered under a comprehensive bumper-to-bumper warranty which expires in March of 2014. The Penn Warranty Corporation is the warranty holder. There is an extended warranty available until the current policy expires. The policy is transferrable to any new owner of the car. Several major repairs have recently been performed at a certified Mercedes center, who has also maintained the car for the current owner. The self-leveling rear suspension has been reconditioned with new accumulators and the hydraulic fluid has been changed (the struts were done within a few years, and are currently functioning perfectly with no leaks). This was done at 80,788 miles. The front caster joints have both been replaced, as were both tie rod assemblies and idler arm assemblies, at 80,788 miles. At 82,293 miles, the transmission would not shift from reverse, and was replaced under warranty with a remanufactured unit by The Penn Warranty Corporation. The replacement transmission is functioning perfectly and is not leaking. The car is currently in perfect operating condition, all controls and functions work, including all available options for the year 1987. Heated power memory seats, rear power sliding heated seats, sunroof, cruise, cold AC, original cassette player, courtesy lighting...even a rare option like the switchable single-tone horn still works perfectly. An exceptional SEL indeed. Body is in nearly perfect original condition, stunning from afar AND up close. Glass, lighting, and trim are in excellent condition, with no bubbling chrome or rust of ANY kind. The undercarriage is completely rust free and in clean condition, the nearly perfect paint and frame condition is visible even underneath the car, and under the hood in the engine bay. The car starts, runs, shifts and drives flawlessly. The brakes and suspension are fresh and function perfectly, the car handles well and cruises the highway perfectly at any speed. The Michelin MXV4 plus all-season radials were new 5,000 miles ago, they are nearly new. The owner's manual, first-aid kit, and service records are with the vehicle. There is a clean New York State title. This Mercedes is truly a wonderful example for a collector, or a truly wonderful daily driver. It has been faithfully serviced, maintenance is up to date and the car is ready to be driven anywhere.
