The Montero goes its own way-confidently and independently. This one owner vehicle is a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Limited with rear air and a moonroof. She is ready for you to become her second owner. You will strut your stuff with more gusto, thanks to a larger, more powerful engine and classy appeal.
Mitsubishi bored and stroked their V-6 from 3.5-liter to 3.8-liter, slipped in a more aggressive cam profile, increased airflow into and out of the engine, and upped compression from 9.0:1 to 10.0:1. Horsepower rises 215, and torque climbs to 248 lb-ft. The larger V-6 feels richer at launch and has more staying power at the top end.
The good news is that this V-8-like performance has no fuel penalty. In fact, the 3.8-liter's EPA estimated city/highway fuel economy actually increases for this year from 14/18 to 15/19.
A five-speed Sportronic sequential-shift automatic transmission gives the driver the option of manual control. The limited edition comes with selectable four wheel drive. Its modes include rear drive and full-time AWD for operation in the paved world, as well as 4WD high or 4WD low with locked center diff for serious off-piste perambulation.
Electronic nanny-M-ASTC Mitsubishi Active Skid and Traction Control. It's a traction and stability-control system that'll brake a spinning wheel to direct drive torque to the opposite-side wheel, both off- and on-road.
The 2003 Montero is cleaner, and has more purposeful looks. Mitsubishi removed the ribbing from the sides and gave the headlamps, grille, and tail-lamps a more elegant look this year.
The tires are in approx. 75% and they are studded tires for the upcoming winter season. The center of the dash has an electronic full color computerized information center. The Infinity Premium Sound system rocks.
The third row seat has tuck away that is similar in function as the stow-n-go system. The wood grain is very nice and the interior is like new. The leather is so comfortable and the heated seats will help you stay warm this winter.
The moonroof is oversized and has rear air control located on the rear of the center console. You will absolutely love this suv and your will be the envy of the block! Just look at that beautiful black paint with the metallic flakes!
