1966 Pontiac GTO Owner Information This vehicle is located in Crestview, Florida - William Witbrod Antioch, IL 60002 --> Please call 1-850-642-0988 for more information. Vehicle Information Miles: 54,931 (believed to be original miles, but title is exempt due to the age) 56,759 --> Exterior Color: Blue Interior Color: Blue Vehicle Description This car is in excellent condition. It's a 1966 Pontiac GTO 2 Door Hardtop, 389 engine, V8, 3 speed automatic transmission. The engine was overhauled 3 years ago with less than 2000 miles put on the engine since then. A lot of details went into this engine so that if you want to show this car at the local car show, you will be proud to open the hood! The 2 speed power glide automatic transmission was replaced in 2004 with a Turbo 350 3 speed automatic transmission with a shift kit installed. This means that when you get up on the accelerator, this car will chirp going from 1st to 2nd and then again from 2nd to 3rd speed. If you drive the car normally or more conservative, you will notice a slight hard shift, but again, that's because of the shift kit which is made more for maximum acceleration.Actually, the whole car went under a complete restoration and paint in 2004. The car still looks great and has been in a garage since the restoration with only around 750 miles put on it each year. The interior is in excellent condition as well, but not perfect. The paint is still in excellent condition with only a couple of paint (rock) dings where the paint got chipped because of a rock. Other notable items of interest- POWER STEERING- POWER BRAKES- New Carburetor- Wooden Steering wheel - Engine compartment is VERY, VERY CLEAN - Interior is very clean, but again is not perfect - Body VERY straight and in excellent condition. - Some very light surface rust spots in trunk due to the humid climate we are in (see picture). To fix this is to lightly sand the surface rust spots and repaint with the special trunk paint- Extra parts and user manual included. - Engine runs and starts great.- Electronic ignition and new coil, new wires and spark plugs, new battery - Transmissions shifts very strong (and hard) - Hood tach, lights, wipers, etc, all work fine - Windows tinted- NEW TIRES (as of 2008), also includes brand new spare tire - New hoses, new hose clamps (the original 1966 style) - In 2004, the wheels where new with new beauty rings - PHS documented. Have all paperwork and will include it with the car. I spent $65 to get the original paperwork on the car that lists the options for the car- I have over $25,000 invested in this car! (and yes, I understand sometimes you get your money back out, and sometimes you don't) ALSO, JUST WANT TO THROW THIS OUT THERE. I HAVE AN ORIGINAL RESTORED 1966 TRI-POWER FOR THE CAR. I HAD THE TRI-POWER ON THE CAR, BUT IT DRANK TOO MUCH GAS, SO I REPLACED IT WITH A NEW 4-BARREL CARB. THE TRI-POWER DOES NOT GO WITH THE CAR UNLESS SOMEONE HITS THE BUY IT NOW OR THE BIDDING GOES OVER $20,000. IF YOU BUY IT NOW OR YOU ARE THE WINNING BIDDER OVER $20,000, I WILL THROW IN THE TRI-POWER AND THE RAM AIR TUB THAT GOES WITH IT. A RESTORED TRI-POWER AND RAM AIR TUB GOES FOR $2000 EASILY. CALL OR EMAIL ME AND I'LL SEND YOU PICTURES OF IT. . Auction Details If you need more information or have questions about this vehicle, please contact John at 1-850-642-0988. Serious bidders only, winning bidder must contact me within 48 hours of auction close to finalize their purchase. The car is also up for sale locally, so could be pulled off of the auction if a local bidder buys the car before the auction end date. So if you REALLY want this car, hit the buy it now, and it's yours. The Bad (Not much, but need to mention in all fairness) Actually, there isn't much on the bad side. As stated above:-- there are a couple small rock dings on the hood -- the dash is in good condition but does have a couple of wrinkles in it, I believe it was recovered during the restoration -- there is a little bubbling by the window where there needs to be some attention given to it before it develops into a problem-- the original radio is missing (there is no radio in the car)-- small leak on right exhaust manifold. Have new set of exhaust manifold gaskets that go with the car to fix this.-- Horn works, but the contact to turn it on or off is not working, so technically, the horn is not working.
