This is a NO RSERVE Auction. Selling one 1964 Corvette Coupe "barn find" that shows how things were in the seventies. Not driven since 1985 but now RUNNING again with new rotor, cap and spark plugs. Driveable, but should have new ignition spark plug wires. Nice 327 engine, but from a Chevelle. Casting number is not correct for a Corvette 327. (If you need the casting number or other information, please call Bob at 586-567-4652) Still has a Munice four speed, see zero on end of main case number in photos) and what appears to be the original rear end. Positraction and Posi red tag still there. Transmission was "rebuilt" before the car was parked, according to the previous owner. We think the heads are original that came with this car new. The valve covers are finned aluminum. Aluminum intake, but says Edlebrock on it. The carb is a Holley, somewhat rare but not a Corvette List number. List ____number shows it's a Holley for a 440 Mopar engine. Again, call me for that List number. Original color was blue (code 912AA) with a dark blue vinyl interior (Trim code 490BA). Orig. dark blue interior door panels are still installed and quite good on both sides. The seats are split, but original. Carpets still there in the rear. Someone installed speakers in the jack storage cover, and the jack is missing, not included. Steering wheel is not teakwood, but it is a nice original - no cracks, good horn button... Windows roll up and down very nicely. Doors open and close very well. Windshield has two stone chips. Rear window is good. Vent windows crank open and shut nicely. VIN ...6454 shows on the original tag under the glove box. See photo of tags showing correct original installation. Trim tag body number is 2672. "D5" is body date. See photos for vintage flares, as well as the typical 6 tail lamp modification. The current color is a burgandy/brown but has lots of cracking in the finish. The coolest part is a genuine real 1967 427 Corvette hood, complete with some scrolling in gold. 1964 style wheels are not included, but the spare tire carrier is still there. The head light buckets are still there, but glassed into the front end. Headlights have been moved to the grille area. Original Overflow tank, dated in 63 as this is an early 64. NON-LEAKING original radiator with correct original numbers, and correct style alternator under the 67 hood (not sure of alternator date code, might be from 69) THIS CAR HAS A "FUEL INJECTION STYLE" RADIATOR SUPPORT. It's a bit rusty, but may be from an early front end repair. Service units have this style with air cleaner hole. Despite the fact there are some drilled holes in the front fender bonding strips, we see NO OTHER evidence of this car being fuel injected. The tachometer is not an FI indicator, as it has the lower HP red line. The gauges all match in terms of color, so we don't think they have been replaced. Actually, the gauges are quite good looking. No rips in the dash pads either. The frame is really good, except for one corner, just in front of the driver's side rear wheel area. See photo for that one problem area. (You can buy a section that replaces this frame area for less than $200.) Original radio works, sort of. Speedometer and tach both work as well. Transmission shifts very well with a HURST replacement shifter.
