UP FOR SALE IS MY RUST FREE 1976 VEGA GT WAGON THAT I BOUGHT A COUPLE YEARS AGO WITH FULL INTENSIONS OF MAKING INTO A NICE AND INEXPENSIVE CRUISER BUT UNFORTUNATLEY I HAVE TO MANY PROJECTS GOING ON TO FINISH IT SO I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO LET SOMEONE ELSE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY IT. " NOTE THE GALLERY PICTURE WAS TAKEN BEFORE I STARTED THE BODY WORK " THE VEGA RUNS RIDES AND DRIVES GREAT AS IS .THE CAR HAS THE GT PACKAGE INCLUDING GT WHEELS,FRONT AND REAR SWAY BARS,POWER STEERING,POWER BRAKES,TILT WHEEL,REAR DEFROSTER,DELUXE CLOTH INTERIOR,TINTED GLASS,REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER,FULL GT GAUGE INSTRUMENTATION,BLAUKPUNT AM-FM CASSETTE STEREO.THE CAR WAS LOWERED WITH THE USE OF AFTERMARKET SPRINGS AND SHOCKS AND RIDES REAL LOW MAYBE TO LOW IN MY OPINION BECAUSE IT DOES HIT THE BUMP STOPS AT TIMES ( PLEASE NOTE THAT QUALITY REPLACEMENT SPRINGS ARE STILL AVAILABLE OVER THE COUNTER AT YOU'R LOCAL PARTS STORE ) THE BODY IS REAL STRAIGHT NEEDING PAINT ONLY DUE TO THE FACT OF AN OLD SCHOOL LAQUER PAINT JOB THAT IS GETTING TIRED. ALL CHROME,TRIM ,WEATHER STRIPPING AND GLASS ARE IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. THE INTERIOR IS REAL NICE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A CRACK IN THE DASH AND DAMAGE TO THE REAR CORNER OF THE LOWER BACK SEAT CUSHION,SHIFTER BOOT AND DRIVERS KICK PANEL FROM A LITTLE CRITTER TRYING TO FIND A HOME ,BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT IS REAL GOOD EVEN THE CLOCK STILL WORKS. I ALSO REPLACED THE RADIATOR WITH A BRAND NEW HEAVY COOLING RADIATOR AND AT THE SAME TIME REPLACED ALL THE BELTS ,WATER PUMP AND CHANGED ALL FLUIDS AND FILTERS. THE VEGA WAS CONVERTED SOME TIME IN THE 80's TO A V-6 BUICK MOTOR,231cui. AND A FIVE SPEED TRANSMISSION.THE CONVERSION WAS DONE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND USED ALL FACTORY MONZA PARTS FOR THE CONVERSION.THE MOTOR AND TRANS WERE COMPLETELY REBUILT BEFORE BEING INSTALLED,A NEW EDELBROCK SP 4 BARREL INTAKE,CARTER 500 CFM 4 BARREL CARB,MSD ELECTRONIC COMPLETE DISTRIBUTOR AND IGNITION ,CRANE CAM,RHODES LIFTERS JUST TO MENTION A FEW OF THE PARTS.ALL FACTORY EMISSIONS WERE RETAINED ALONG WITH A CATALYTIC CONVERTER FEED BY A 3" MONZA COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM. ( PLEASE NOTE THAT "I CAN NOT GAURANTEE" THAT THIS CAR WILL PASS CALIFORNIA SMOG WITH THE INSTALLED AFTERMARKET INTAKE AND CARB THAT ARE ON THE MOTOR AT THE PRESENT TIME) ALL INTERNAL A EXTERNAL PARTS ARE NEW AND I HAVE OVER $ 2500.00 IN RECEIPTS FOR PARTS ALONE . I DON'T KNOW THE EXACT MILES SINCE THE REBUILD BUT I DON'T THINK IT IS MUCH BY THE CONDITION OF THE CONVERSION AND THE MECHANICAL CONDITION OF THE ENGINE . THE CAR BASICALLY JUST NEEDS PAINT,THE BODY IS SUPER STRAIGHT AND RUST FREE .THE ONLY RUST IT EVER HAD WAS THE TYPICAL BATTERY AREA THAT WAS CUT OUT AND NEW SHEET METAL WELDED IN ITS PLACE NEEDING JUST A NEW TRAY TO COMPLETE IT.ALL PARTS NEEDED TO FINISH THE CAR ARE WITH ITAND I AM ALSO INCLUDING AN EXTRA RIGHT FRONT FENDER,HEADER PANEL,GRILLE WITH TRIM,RIGHT AND LEFT HEADLIGHT EXTENSIONS,LOWER VALANCE AND INNER FENDER.EVERYTHING ELSE IS THERE FOR THE CAR AND NO PARTS MISSING. THE VEGA SAT FOR 5 YEARS BEFORE I BOUGHT IT AFTER A MINOR OVER THE BUMPER FENDER BENDER.THERE WAS NO STRUCTAL DAMAGE THAT I COULD SEE AND ONLY MINOR BENDING OF THE CORE SUPPORT WHICH IS JUST THIN SHEET METAL THAT WAS EASILY BENT BACK INTO SHAPE.I REPLACED THE LEFT FRONT FENDER,HOOD,HEADER PANEL,GRILLE,AND BOTH HEADLIGHT EXTENSIONS WITH NICE USED PARTS.THE FRONT CLIP WAS STRIPPED AND REPRIMERED AND IS READY FOR THE FIRST BLOCK SANDING STAGE. " NOTE THAT THE PRIMER IN THE BOTTOM CORNERS OF THE COWL ARE NOT FROM RUST REPAIR BUT ARE IN FACT FROM ME CLEANING UP THE UGLY PINCH WELDS WHEN THE FENDERS WERE REMOVED FROM THE CAR " THE WINDSHIELD AREA IS RUST FREE AS IS THE REST OF THE CAR " THIS CAR WON'T TAKE ALOT TO PUT BACK TOGETHER OR A TON OF MONEY TO DO SO! IT JUST NEEDS A LITTLE TIME AND PATIENCE TO CLEAN UP THE PAINT AND DETAIL IT TO YOU'R NEEDS AND WANTS.
