Vehicle Detail
1936 Chevrolet Standard Cabriolet. When was the last time you saw one of these for sale? Patina galore!!! I'm selling it due to a renewed interest in early American motorcycles, and would consider trades towards such. This car was "restored" in the 60's, then in storage in Arizona until late 90's. I bought the car a couple of years ago from a guy in Washington. The original 6 cylinder still purr's like a kitten. The car runs and drives well. I have rebuilt the starter and generator. I have installed brand new Firestone WWW tires. The brakes stop the car fine, although there is a leak in the master cylinder (may be fixed by time of sale). The transmission works well, although grinds a little going into 3rd gear. The car comes with an extra trans. that appears rebuilt. It is equipped with accessory fog lamps, town and country horns, bumper guard, deluxe heater that works well, and non working factory radio. The bumpers and grill are excellent. The body is basically rust free, except drivers floor where your feet rest. Original running boards are straight and solid. The body panels are super straight and rust free. The paint is crackled and chipped in the sweaty way that you want an old original to look. The top frame and latches are complete, although no top fabric (who wants ti drive in the rain???). The windshield wiper is there, but no wiper transmission. The interior was covered in naughahyde?? back when the car was done. It looks good with the patina of the paint. The gauges work and are in nice shape. It does need a glove box lock. This car is a blast to drive, and gets a lot of looks and thumbs up. It runs so quiet that you sometimes think it has killed at a stop sign. It is an amazing car for being 74 years old. This is a great opportunity to own a very rare auto!!! Winning bidder will pay all costs associated with shipping, and I will physically assist if needed. The car is as is. Winning bidder will need to pay $500 deposit to PayPal within 24 hours, with balanced paid by money transfer, bank check (car doesn't leave before funds have cleared), or cash upon pick up.
