Vehicle Detail

1974 Porsche 914 - 2.0L - Very original car; No rot; Low miles The best year for the 914 2.0L: Highest power output, Chrome bumpers. (Later cars were strangled with smog equipment and had less-desirable black rubber bumpers.) Very original car in EXCELLENT mechanical condition. This would be a great daily driver... I've driven it about once a week and stored it in a garage. Starts and runs strong and reliably. In excellent mechanical condition. All original fuel injection equipment intact, rebuilt and functioning perfectly. Purchased in Dec 2006 from Automobile Atlanta. I performed a lot of work right away to bring it up to top mechanical shape (receipts in hand). Car passes DC emissions test easily - Aug 2010 (HC = 180 ppm against 1200 ppm limit. CO = 5.13% against 9.00% limit.) ENGINE: Excellent condition. Pulls strong, idles evenly. Doesn't burn oil or drip oil. Original fuel Injection in perfect condition. New vacuum hoses, new vacuum boots on injectors. New pushrod tube seals. New points. New fan belt. New Bursch muffler (close to stock, but a little sportier sound) CHASSIS/BRAKES: New brake pads. Rebuilt master cylinder and one caliper. Rebuilt pedal cluster with new bushings. Removed and repacked axle joints. New sway bar bushings. New swing arm bushings. New front Boge struts. New shift linkage bushings. New rubber body seals: window scrapers, hard top rear seal. I had some rust in the driver's sill repaired in Dec 2008. There is no rot left in this car. I also painted the underbody with POR15 rust inhibitor. Original color is Saturn Yellow. A previous owner had the exterior resprayed in this same color. It's a good daily driver paint job but it won't win you any awards. Cool gunmetal finish steel wheels with good Dunlop tires. INTERIOR Interior is in excellent original condition. Original seats with cloth inserts. Original dash pad (slight cracking but barely visible). I installed an '80s CD player with Aux input for my iPod, which looks like it matches the car. I also installed 4 new speakers in the existing locations. Carpets are almost like new. I keep a set of coconut mats over them always. This car includes all of the small important things that these are normally missing by now: water drain funnels/pipes in the engine bay; proper battery tiedown; original jack; original sound/heat insulator in trunk floor; original fuse panel cover; fuel injection system completely intact; Correct OE pipes on the heater system. Feel free to ask any questions. SALE TERMS: $500 deposit due via paypal within 48 hours of auction close. Balance within 7 days via cashier's/certified check or cash. On Sep-06-10 at 11:21:19 PDT, seller added the following information:UPDATE on color: The color code is L13M. For 1973 it was called Saturn Yellow... for 1974 it was called Chrome Yellow. Go figure.
