Vehicle Detail

1976 Pontiac Trans Am Original W code 455 H.O. The car still has the original numbers matching motor and 4 speed. The car could go many ways, You could do a frame up resto and have a beautiful rare high dollar car or you could do a moderate resto and just drive it. The motor runs great, the automatic choke even works. The shaker setup is complete except the outside rear cover on the scoop is missing. It has the original Hurst shifter and it seems to shift fine ( it still has the rod to the steering column so you have to put it in reverse to turn the key off) It will need one exhaust doughnut gasket and one exhaust manifold changed (it has a crack), I have a set of manifolds that will go with the car. The rest of the exhaust is good. The gas tank was replaced a few years back. The brakes seem fine and the steering feels good. The clutch grabs high but it doesn't slip so it may just need an adjustment. Now for the body, overall it's pretty decent being a NY car. The rear frame and trunk are solid, some minor swelling at a few seams but definately do not need replacing, the floors will need minor work on the front passenger and driver side, they have minor rust through but will not need full pans just a patch or two. The passenger fender should be replaced, it has a dent plus some rust in the dog leg. The nose and bumpers are good, The wheel flares, spoiler and mirrors are nice. The hood has minor rust but repairable, the doors are swelling on the bottom seam, the quarters have some minor rust. Like I said you could patch this car up with it's existing panels in a good weekend paint it and enjoy it or start replacing panels for a top notch resto. The interior has it's good and bad. The door panels are pretty nice, the dash has a few very minor cracks that are barely noticeable. The steering wheel is pretty good, it has an aftermarket old school stereo in it but I don't think it's cut and the stock radio plate is in the glove box. The console needs a lid and has a cigarette burn on it. The rear seat is nice, the fronts need covers, the package tray is bad the headliner has been glued up at least once and the carpet needs to be replaced. The wheels are 1977-78 but are in decent shape, The tires are ok but it will need new ones. This is a decent running car and could be driven as is everyday or a drive while you restore project. I am selling the car as is with no warranty, it is 34 years old. Numbers matching cars are getting hard to find and a solid investment. The reserve is low, I am just about giving this car away. As far as shipping goes you can pick it up in western NY, You can arrange shipping or I can arrange shipping to your door. I will deliver the car within 300 miles with the exception of Canada for $1.50 a loaded mile. There will be a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit due within 4 business days from the end of the auction in the form of cashiers check or money order. The balance will be due at the time of pick up or before shipping in the form of cash, cashiers check or money order. GOOD LUCK!!!
