Vehicle Detail
This is the best project on Ebay. This car was being built to honor those great gassers of the 60's. Much thought went into this car. Many pictures were sourced from years ago so everything would look right. The frame is a former gasser frame that is boxed, with rear leaf springs & ladder bars. It has a Ford 9 inch rear with Moser 28 spline axles. The center section has 390 gears with mini-spool (needs to be set up). Big bearing ends, no backing plates or drums. Up front leaf springs & a straight axle. Axle is a '38 Chevy (was stronger than a Willys). It has 54 Chevy drums. The awesome body is from ACA in New York. The glass is of excellent quality, everything lines up. doors shut better than a new car. Super straight panels, no flash lines to block out. Trunk lid is hinged & lines up great. The hood needs the rear hinge attached (included with car). Was going to use hood pins to make it a lift off. It has 15X4 slots with new Firestones on the front & 15X10 slots on the rear with a 30 inch tall tire. Has a rare 58 Ford grille like most of the old gassers used. Stainless hood hold downs. '37 Ford head lamps. Vintage domed AC gauges in dash. Brushed stainless rear push bumper. Original glass lense tail lights. Smooth hood liner under hood. Detailed inner trunk panel. It has a removable transmission tunnel. This is titled a 1940 Willys Americar. PA title in my name. VIN plate on front cross member, as original. What you see is what you get. No motor, no trans. All glass & any other accessories available through ACA. The reserve is not much more than what the body cost new. Please look at the pictures very carefully & feel free to ask questions or come see the car, it's between Reading & Lancaster, PA. It's an excellent start on a really cool project! No trades, and I do go by Ebay's rules & won't end the auction early. I don't have any means to transport, you must come & pick the car up. On Sep-13-10 at 08:08:01 PDT, seller added the following information: This is an Ebay auction. On Sep-13-10 at 17:02:15 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a fiberglass car, see the picture of the yellow ad from where it came from. I have a typo in the ad--It is a clean 1941 Willys title, NOT a 40. It is titled & has a VIN number of a 1941. On Sep-15-10 at 08:36:53 PDT, seller added the following information: This car is very close to hitting reserve now, & I would like to remind everyone that your bid is a binding contract. It is a purchase. Please look at the pictures carefully & do not bid if you don't intend to pay and take the car.
