Vehicle Detail
1967 Volvo 1800S, in great running condition, with lots of new parts. This car has a great history, which I'll be happy to share. It is in very nice condition, with no frame rust, and only a bit of surface rust. It runs strong, shifts well-including the electric overdrive.Car starts reliably, and runs strong. Tight and fun todrive. Original Volvo three-point seatbelts, with center post for attachment. The pictures speak for themselves, and here is a link to more, once you have checked the pictures here on the ebay listing: Snapfish Album Volvo1800 or cut and paste: http://www1.snapfish.com/snapfish/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=3229546015/a=4011931_4011931/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/ The car has the following new parts (within the last 5 years) Complete new exhaust system, from manifold back Complete new gas tank, gas lines, and filler pipe hose Complete new brake lines and pads New upper and lower ball joints All four new shocks Newly rebuilt generator New battery (March 2010) New coil and new ignition switch. All glass is good, with no cracks or breaks. New cassette AM/FM radio, with new speakers All lights work, brakes including emergency brake work well Seats, headliner and vinyl door panels all good, with no rips or tears. I believe the seats were re-upholstered at some point, and I rewove the elastic strips under the seats. Carpet, worn in places (see pics) buy basically good. It may be the original carpet. ---- What's wrong: Speedometer/odometer do not work. So mileage is unknown, which is what it said on the title I got. I have no idea what actual miles are, but based on condition, I am guessing much less than 200,000, maybe less than 100,000. (80,000 is estimate-- ebay requires a numeric entry) When I replaced the coil, I could not find original, so had to replace the ignition switch, and I put in a push button starter. So that is not original, and there is some cosmetic damage around the ignition switch, from the removal process. Also, the tachometer has not worked since coil replacement. I think this is a simple fix, but I have not figured it out. The electrical system works, but it needs re-doing. A lot of wires, with unknown destinations, etc. Clutch sometimes freezes up, if the car is parked for a while without running. Solved by keeping clutch depressed during storage periods. There is some surface rust on several places on the front hood and fenders (in pics, this has been sprayed with white primer) and a few spots on rear fenders. not much, but to be a how car, it will need to be painted. Still looks pretty good. Has an air-conditioning system, but the underhood compressor is not installed, or hooked up. I have the compressor, and it goes with the car.Not sure if it would work if connected back up. clock does not work check the pics, and email with any questions. Car is listed locally, and if it sells here, I reserve the right to end the auction. I will want a $500 deposit, within 2 days of auction end, by PayPal. You may pick up, and possibly drive home, but it is an old car, and I am not sure I would drive it more than a few hundred miles without some back-up. I will help arrange shipping if that's what you want to do. LOW Reserve- Bid if you wnat to buy this appreciating classic. Hemmings Exotics and Sportslisted this as one of the best buys for under $10k, in cars that will appreciate in value. Here is your chance to pick one up for less than $5,000.
