Vehicle Detail

Thanks everyone, we got close on that last auction...so I thought I would try one more time with the Two for One deal. I have lowered the reserve to the absolute minimum! Deal of the year... TWO for one... We are cleaning out the garage! These cars have been daily drivers up until last month. We planned on keeping these for several more years as our daily driver cars, but I have had no luck finding a reliable Mercedes Mechanic in or near Monroe and I don't have time to run them 45+ miles for service. So here is what we are offering: One daily driver and one parts car, or two parts cars, or whatever you want to do with them, just get them out of our driveway! 1995 E320 Special Edition Sedan (VIN#WDBEA32E7SC215615): 143,665 miles. Runs well. Brakes, Rotors, H2O pump, O2sensor replaced @ 138,035 miles (3/19/10). Service @ 141,540 miles (5/25/10) by MB of Ann Arbor: Shifter bushings, Oil and Filter, Brake Fluid Exchange, Accesory "V" Belt, Coolant System Checked, Thermostat, Radiator Cap, Front and Rear Motor Mounts, Steering Shock, Wheel Alignment, Checked Wheel Bearings, Tire Tread Depth Measured 7/32" Front, 6/32" Rear. Interior: Leather is in remarkable condition with only one small area on the driver's seat left side bolster that is showing signs of wear. Carpets are in great shape and very clean with no stains, original MB floor mats are missing. Power seats are fully operational with the exception of the power headrest. All switches and buttons are working, the power mirror knob is missing but functional. No rust in spare tire compartment. Radio is original and does work (sort of), it changes stations at will and volume control is unpredictable which makes for an interesting commute. Power sunroof slides fully open and closes with no problem, but struggles to raise to the vent position. The Headliner is begining to sag in the rear. Climate Control Blower just quit working. Exterior: Paint is very nice on the sides of the car, but has some swirls/glazing on the horizontal surfaces, which I tried repeatedly to capture with photos with no luck, but is visible to the naked and discerning eye. There are 3 spots of superficial rust on the passenger side, one on the front door, and two on the front wheel well lip. Rear bumper has a cracked trim piece on the passenger side. Front bumper has a crack in the lower trim on the driver side. 1995 E320 Wagon VIN#WDBEA92E1SF323794: 168,292 miles. Incredibly smooth running motor! New Rotors and Lifetime Brake Pads from Midas, New Michelin Tires in Jan. 2010. This wagon was stolen in Cincinnati in the last 60 days and recovered within 24 hours with no damage. I apparently left the keys in the ignition and someone went for a joy ride... Just wanted to mention it in case it appears on a vehicle history report. More information is available about this incident if you want to know about it... Interior: MB Tex-Leather is in remarkable condition, all power seat functions work with exception of the passenger power headrest, drivers side is operating. Carpets are in very good condition with the exception of the rear cargo area which has some staining from a wet bag of mulch. Telescoping Steering Wheel, 3rd Row Seating, Cargo Cover, Mesh Cargo Divider, MB Multi Disk Changer, Replacment stereo with USB port, Auxilary jack, and Bluetooth. Exterior: Paint is in very good/almost new condition. One rust spot on right front fender from the heated washer fluid resovoir leaking which was a common problem for cars of lazy owners that didn't have them replaced; it has rusted through the metal, about the size of a quarter. Chipped paint on rear bumper, front bumper is missing the lower trim piece The bad things on the wagon: Head Gasket is leaking and not a cheap repair $1,200 or 10 plus hours of your time for do it yourselfers. Transmission is failing...lost reverse gear about 18k miles ago and is showing signs of nearing total failure but does still drive. Drive gears works fine, but when accelerating aggressively, it will occasionally slip which leads me to believe that it is on borrowed time. Cost to replace transmission is approx $7,000 per MB of Ann Arbor. Rear suspension is a mess...it rode rough when I bought it so I thought replacing the rear shocks would resolve the issue. Not even close... One of the previous owners or dealers cut out the hydrolic lines from the leveling valve back to the shocks, not sure why they did this. It has been inspected by MB in Toledo and they think the leveling valve was likely bad so someone just put regular shocks on the vehicle and cut out the lines. Before I learned about the sophistication of the station wagon suspension, I took it to Belle Tire who said that it needed new rear shocks, so they put on Monroe SensaTrack Shocks which are absolutly useless and not the right part for this vehicle. The ride is not pleasant but I have managed to put 30k miles on it in under a year. Although the ride is rough, it is tracking correctly and feels safe and predicable to drive. Just a testament to MB for builing a tank of a car. Cost to repair everything and make it ride like a Mercedes should is approx $1,500-2,000 per MB of Toledo and Ann Arbor (The nice folks at Belle Tire in Monroe said they could do it for $3,500) Total needed to repair these issues is about $10,200 so I am offering it as a parts car. Both Titles are clear and ready to transfer to someone that has the space and time for these potential classics. Please contact Brian at 248-506-1793 or bwatson@sterilmed.com with any questions, for more pictures of either vehicle, or to schedule a private showing and test drive. Thanks and Happy Bidding!! I have been contacted by another Mercedes Enthusiast/Ebayer that has a 1995 engine to offer to the high/any bidder. User name is: omegaphoto I have complete E320 (M104) motor out of a 1995 E320 Station Wagon. It has a detailed service history as it was the Carriage House of New London's Mercedes dealer's own personal car.He was rear ended and thus parted out the car - I purchased the motor for the throttle body and the wiring harness. I will probably use the coils and the plugs in my 1995 E320 so other than that the motor would need to have the oil pan replaced or swapped as a slight puncture was created when unloading the motor from the Freightliner truck into my garage. Motor has 189k and no leaks from any gaskets - can sell the motor for $500.00 to any of your potential hi-bidders especially if any one is in the New England area (I live in Rhode Island). It would be cheaper than doing a head gasket and the buyer could use the other motor as a back up for parts. I just wanted to mention this ebay users offer in case it would be a benefit to whomever buys my cars.
