Vehicle Detail
After the first 45,000 miles, hardly a mile has been added. Consistently housed in a garage you will find the body in impecable condition with the slight exception of some chipping paint on the 2 doors. There are no 'ding's' though and there is no rust. The car has never been in an accident and runs smoothly. Service receipts will verify mileage and the car has been maintained well. It has a newer battery, a new and complete brake job was recently done by an authorized Mercedes dealer. There are also newer belts and seals in the car. The tires have fewer than 3,000 miles on them. The dash is excellent and there isn't a crack to be seen. We have the original Owner's Manual, Owner's Maintenance booklet, Owner's Service and Warranty Policy, Owner's Emmision Systems Manual-1973, "Facts About FM and FM Stereo Radio Performance" booklet, Service booklet (in German) and Becker Autoradio booklet in German and English, plus the Directory of Mercedes-Benz Dealers in the US from April 1, 1973 all in the original case. This car was purchase by us on Jan 30th 2003 from California where it spent almost it's entire life. When it was purchase new in '73 the owners lived in Chicago and moved to CA within a year. The wife used the car for shopping and hair appmts once a week. When they were no longer able to drive it went in to storage and was later inherited by their son in La Jolla, CA. Sold to a highway patrolman, it was a collectors item, and rarely used, but fastidiously maintained. When he was transfered is when we bought the car. My husband flew to CA and drove the car back to CO. It still runs great! Service records are extensive and at the time the patrolman owned the car belts, hoses, door seals and all such were replaced. It had regular maintenance and AC service. It has a newer battery, a new and complete brake job was recently done by an authorized Mercedes dealer. The tires have fewer than 3,000 miles on them.
