Vehicle Detail
I purchased this vehicle from a dealer in Virginia in Jan, 2008. It was delivered 6 or 7 weeks later while I was out of the country on business, After my arrival back in the US, I was NOT pleased with the condition of the vehicle, it was certainly not as advertised by photos. It's a older restoration so I presume the photos used in the ad were taken after restoration instead of more recent photos. After I inspected the vehicle (had been accepted by a family member who was not allowed to drive it by the transport driver), I drove the vehicle only 3 miles when the so called "late model" 5 speed transmission failed! I was NOT pleased! I had the vehicle towed and the following work performed; The transmission was removed and replaced by a professionaly rebuilt Muncie M22 "Rockcrusher' 4 speed, the 350 engine was removed and completely rebuilt, has electronic ignition, new ceramic coated headers, new Flowmaster dual exhaust, and tips, new radiator and electric cooling fan, new armrests, gas pedal, chassis, fenderwells, and complete underneath was blasted with baking soda and sprayed with poly carbonate coating to prevent future rust and dings, etc. new rear bumper, new front and rear light lenses, etc. Car has excellent A/C and CD/radio combo, no power brakes, power steering, etc! It's "Old School" and is in great condition. I have only driven this vehicle 600 miles since this above work was done, it's stored and is nearly excellent. I did not replace the carpet after the transmission was replaced so it will need new carpet installed. (about $400 or less), as I'd planned on replacing the interior (nice as it is, no rips, tears, etc.) but need to SELL as my sister needs a heart transplant and is on a waiting list, otherwise I'd Never sell it! It's a beauty and pleasure to drive, I receive compliments every time it's out, only in excellent weather. No warranty expressed or implied, payment by Certified bank check, wire transfer, or cash! NO PAYPAL accepted! Vehicle and title will remain with me until check clears, full payment received etc. I reserve the right to end this auction early as this vehicle is available locally and via additional media. Please review my additional auction # 270631553403 for a recently Restored 1971 International 1210 Series 4 X 4, Ex Fire Department Mini Pumper Brush truck with 15,050 ORIGINAL miles! Multiple First Place awards winner. You won't be disappointed, there's not another one like it! N expense was spared during two year restoration, you have to see it to believe it! DEAL OF THE DAY! My sister means more to me than any vehicle, so these are For Sale! Thank you for reviewing my vehicle, I have nearly $50k invested, the reserve is very reasonable so please bid accordingly and WIN! Payment due within 3 days after end of acution, please only bid if you have the funds available, this is a contract as per Ebay rules. On Aug-12-10 at 10:04:26 PDT, seller added the following information: New Clutch, new HURST Competition Shifter with White shift pattern ball knob were installed with transmission. On Aug-12-10 at 19:38:11 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to add that the new exhaust system is equipped with Quick Time Performance (QTP) electronically controled exhaust cutouts that are placed between the headers and the mufflers, a hidden toggle switch is used to slowly open and close the exhaust when desired. Not for use in completely "OPEN" position on roadways. It definitely gets attention when "OPEN", sounds great with the Cam installed, has surprised a few people in Mustangs, etc. This 350 engine is VERY STRONG! No disapointments with this baby! On Aug-13-10 at 12:35:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Please be advised that the photos used in this ad are the most recent, the car looks and performs great as advertised, please bid only if you're a serious bidder, I will be happy to answer any additional questions, don't miss this one, it's the deal you've been waiting for. I'm only offering it for sale due to my sister's medical condition OTHERWISE it would not be available. Please bid accordingly! Thanks! On Aug-13-10 at 19:13:20 PDT, seller added the following information: I've answered additional questions regarding both vehicles and will be pleased to continue doing so BUT please DO NOT ask the Reserve Prices, I cannot reveal them as per Ebay policies. Both of these vehicles are worth much more than my Reserve Prices, your consideration and purchases are for a good cause, I appreciate all who view and consider these vehicles but they will not sell unless the reserve prices are met and or exceeded, one gentleman wasn't exactly sure of the definition of "Reserve Price", it is NOT the purchase price as most Ebayers clearly understand. Any questions? Please either Email or contact me at (713) 299-1112 during normal hours or leave a voice mail message, I'll return your call as soon as possible. Thanks! On Aug-15-10 at 09:15:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok, now that I'm able too get back to this, for further clarification, the "Reserve Price" is the minimum price that must be met to purchase the vehicle BUT the item will sell to the highest bidder after this Reserve Price has been met and / or exceeded. I understand that most Ebayer's understand this but some required additional clarification. Thanks for viewing my listings! On Aug-23-10 at 12:20:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Winning bidders to contact me after sale of vehicle(s) to reconfirm payment details, if required vehicle(s) may remain stored with me for a period of up to 6 weeks due to transportation availability, no rush, obtain your best transportation estimates and schedules, vehicle(s) are insured and will not be driven after sale and will remain saftely stored until buyer chosen transportation firm arrives for pickup. My sister's medical condition has been re-evaluated, she may require both Heart and Lung transplants, please give this bid process serious consideration, 100% of the funds will help in payment of medical bills, insurance alone is not enough to cover estimated medical expenses. Thank you for your kind consideration. On Aug-25-10 at 12:01:36 PDT, seller added the following information: As per request I've taken and posted additional photos of the underside of the '56 Chevy to show the condition of the chassis, new exhaust system, headers, etc. as coated with protective polycarbonate coating after the baking soda media blasting to remove any previous slight rust. All of the steel is original to my knowledge, including floors, inner fender wells, etc. This was done before the Muncie transmission, driveshaft, etc. were installed as mentioned in the above description, the media blasting and coating expense alone was an additional $900.00. It's easy to see how I have close to $50K invested in the Chevy plus approximately another $50K in the '71 International 1210 4 x 4 truck, total investment in both vehicles as mentioned is in the neighborhood of $100K. These are both GREAT deals with very reasonable Reserve prices, if you're a serious buyer, these vehicles are not to be missed. Good Luck with the bidding, these vehicles are priced to sell! Thanks! On Aug-26-10 at 11:38:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Seems as though I forgot to include the new Monroe Air shocks installed on the rear when the above mentioned work was done, I had these installed to provide the ability to slightly raise the rear of the car when desired (Maybe 2" or 3", not sure of exact maximum possible lift measurement) by simply adding air, easy way to control the rear stance of the vehicle without adding springs which in my eyes can cheapen a vehicle if raised to high, car looks great when used for slight lift purpose, just the right amout of life to give that perfect front to rear stance. Thanks for viewing both of my vehicles, the new owners will be very pleased with these purchases, I hate to sell but will if the Reserve prices are met, have had a very good local offer on the '56 Chevy but will let the auction run it's course to be fair to all interested parties. Thanks again! Any questions? Please contact me via Email or the telephone number provided above, during normal hours and until 9 P.M. Central Time.
