Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is my trusty old Dodge. 1998 Ram 2500 second series 24 valve Cummings diesel automatic 4X4 8,800 GVW. SLT Laramie package with keyless entry, wood grain, electric mirrors, factory 6 CD changer, A/C. Cruise, tilt and electric brakes. The engine is perfect and has never had a wrench on it. It does not use or leak a drop of oil. This is the best truck I have ever owned. It is now spending more time in the barn than on the road so, I have decided to let it go. It was purchase new in Kellogg, Idaho. I purchased it in Missoula Montana when it had 26,000 miles on it. I am the third owner but, I purchased it directly from the second owner. I talked with the first owner and he said the only reason he sold the truck was, it did not have enough interior room for the family and dog. The second owner was a woman and she had trouble getting in and out in a dress. The truck has 199,200 miles on it and still looks and drives like it did at 26,000 miles. It does not have any rattles and has NEVER been in the mud. I do not even drive it on rough dirt roads. There is no dirt or mud in the frame rails. Just before the warranty was up, I had the transmission checked at the Dodge dealership in Missoula. It was repainted in 2000 due to hail damage received in Colorado. You can check car fax. I have never had any major problems with the truck but, I have replaced the ABS sensor in the rear differential at 176,000 miles. The fuel transfer pump 160,000 miles and the upper and lower ball joints at 190,000 miles. The oil has been change every 4 to 6 thousand miles. (Delo 400 oil) The transmission fluid changed every 25, to 30 thousand miles. I installed a drain plug in the transmission pan because I changed the fluid so often. The transfer case and differentials have been serviced every 50,000 miles. Fuel filter changed every third oil change. The brake rotors and pads are good. Maybe 20,000 miles on them. The rear shoes have never been changed and the last time I looked at them, there was still ¼ lining on them. The four wheel drive may have been used 20 – 25 times. Mostly to circulate the oil to lube the seals. The tires have never been patched and have been rotated every 6,000 miles. They probably have 60% tread left on them. It has a 120 Volt engine heater from the factory. Grill guard, nerf bars, receiver hitch, bed liner and bug deflector are all MOPAR. I have a 15,000 RWB fifth wheel hitch and a goose neck hitch I will sell with the truck for $400.00. If you do not want the hitches, I will need to remove the hitch hardware from the frame and bed. You cannot buy these hitches anywhere for that price. They have not been in the truck in 6 years. The bed does not have any dents but does show ware from a bed liner. The bed liner was cut to allow installation of hitch hardware. There are only 2 body dents on the body. One small on the left rear cab and one in the tailgate where it was struck by a breaking chain while pulling a Ford out of a ditch. LOL The paint is good, ( Amethyst in color) and the interior is perfect. The door plastic is showing a little fading but no cracks. The floor mats and carpet still look new. Needs a little cleaning but no holes or rips. The wood grain is still very glossy and in good condition. The air conditioner is having a little problem blowing through the dash vents. Probably due to a vacuum leak. Have not had time to check it out. I was a GM certified mechanic so, I made all of the repairs and performed all of the preventive maintenance. My 28 year old daughter says the truck is still the sexiest truck she has ever seen. LOL This is a fly in drive home vehicle. Questions welcome 903-490-2292. I am past 60 years of age and I am very particular with the maintenance on my rides. The truck has been well cared for. Showroom condition- no. Good clean and well maintained truck- yes. I do have a reserve on the truck because it is in too good condition to give away. For your reference, Look it up in Kelly Blue Book or NADA. If you win the bid, the truck will not be driven until pick up day. The truck is for sale locally so, I reserve the right to end the bidding. Thanks for looking and good luck. Do not bid if you do not intend to follow through with the contract. On Sep-08-10 at 07:43:12 PDT, seller added the following information:It was difficult to remember everything in the initial listing so I need to mention a couple of other issues. There is a small dent in the rear bumper and the nerf bar on the drivers side is rusted through. There is no other rust on the truck. The factory radio is installed to accommodate the factory 6 CD changer. On Sep-09-10 at 09:08:50 PDT, seller added the following information:I have not inspected the rear brake shoes in several months so, I have decided to replace them Friday 09-10. It is my desire for the truck to be in very good condition at sale end.On Sep-12-10 at 06:18:42 PDT, seller added the following information:THIS TRUCK IS LISTED LOCALLY, NEW BOSTON TEXAS AND EBAY ONLY. ANY OTHER LISTING WILL BE A SCAM OR FRAUD.
