Vehicle Detail

It's time to throw in the towel. I'm not the mechanic I hoped I could be. I bought this motorcycle 6 years ago by mistake. I limited my search to 25 miles on eBay, then clicked the radio button to enable the restrict search to area function and that reset the search area to 200 miles without me noticing. I ended up buying a bike that was in Tucson, so when I took the airport shuttle down to Tucson to pick it up and noticed it was not as described, I felt like I had to drive it home anyway. The guy that sold it to me was Frank Heiniken of Germany and he had returned home before the auction ended. He claimed that the previous owner dropped it in his driveway and had it repainted, but I suspect it was stolen, wrecked, and then rebuilt based on the fact that the ignition key hole looks buggered. If anybody knows where he is now, I'll pay good money to be able to go kick his deutsche-bag ass. I got it in running order (I paid the guys at AZSBK) and rode it for a while, but then I started training martial arts and had too much gear besides my work laptop bag to carry everything on a sport bike, so it's been sitting in the garage for the last two years. I did have a low side slip in Scottsdale which broke off the right foot-peg and turn signals, bent the right handlebar and broke the fairing. I had these grandiose plans to fix it up, but two years later I'm tired of paying the insurance and it hasn't been registered for the last year. Since then, I replaced the foot pegs with billet aluminum ones, turn signals with carbon-fiber looking plastic ones, handle bars, and the clutch/brake with pazzo racing levers, and bought a shark skinz race fairing. I didn't realize it was a race fairing, so the bottom half of the fairing is not on the bike because it does not have a cut-out for the kickstand. I just replaced the battery at Town and Country Motorsports so it has a 1 year warranty. I just drained the tank and put in fresh gas and it started right up, so you should be able to get it on the road pretty quick. Additionally, I added a carbon fiber slip-on muffler, a tinted speedscreen visor, and a power-commander. I have the software CD for the power commander as well. One other thing worthy of note is that when I started restoring it I took off the tank and broke the factory gas tank fittings which were plastic and had been recalled because they break super easy. It took me like 4 hours to drill out the fittings as best I could, then go around and around the threads to remove the plastic threads with a tiny screwdriver to get all of the plastic out. I replaced them with metal fittings that should last forever and never break. I still think it's a great project bike for a better, more patient mechanic than myself. You can delete the kickstand if you're looking for a project track bike, or modify the lower fairing to accommodate the kickstand for a daily driver. My plans included having it repainted yellow, so I bought a yellow cowl to cover the passenger part of the seat for a more sporty look, which if you don't want it yellow you can throw away or have it painted, and I have a set of vinyl graphics to complete the look. Buyer must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for trailoring the bike away. The tires are too low on pressure for you to drive it away. I will be willing to deliver the bike within 25 miles for $100.00 extra. Just email me if you have any questions. On Sep-08-10 at 16:35:30 PDT, seller added the following information: I seem to be answering the same questions over and over again, so please read the following before emailing me: 1. Title is clear, not salvage, and in my name only with no liens. 2. I started the bike the day before I posted the auction and rode it around the block. 3. What's wrong with it? It has been popping fuses after it warms up. I did an internet search and found another guy had the same problem and it ended up being the radiator fan. 4. There is no "buy it now" price. Thanks again for looking and feel free to ask me any other questions.
