This is a nice origional Horizon blue corvair 500 sedan. It has the 3 speed manual transmission , gas heater ,working radio and fold down back seat. It has been is in storage for quite a few years and is in good origional condition. It shows no signs of body damage or bondo. The car has been re-painted at some point and it is faded ,but solid and not rusty. The trunk is in excellent shape with no rust ,and a new weatherstrip. The heater works but has had the fuel line disconnected due to needing a exhaust pipe(safety issue). The car starts and can be driven .The engine will need the o-rings replaced ,but it does not seem to need a complete re-sealing. The engine purs and has no abnormal noises. It shifts fine and the car drives great ,nice and solid. I have not driven it any distance due to the fact the cooling fins need cleaning of leaves and debris, and the o-rings replaced. Also the brakes should be gone through ,although they work good after the first application. All the doors work properly. Basically it is an un-molested origional 1960 that has been sitting a lot. The bad part is the front floors are weak ,they heve been repaired at some point ,but to do it right , they need to be replaced. The apholstery is in poor condition. There is a couple places where there is some rust in the door skins(see photos). Also the windshield leaks some. There is some rust a the rear window overhang dripmoulding.(see pix) There is 2 boxes of spare parts and also a set of drip rail stainless trim off a 700 sedan. The corvair is located in Hayesvile NC 28904 .It can be delivered to Franklin NC . I can also deliver it to Asheville NC for a small fee for fuel costs.
