Up for auction is an ORIGINAL, un-molested 1976 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. This auction has NO RESERVE!!This Land Cruiser is original in and out, with only 47,000 miles! The odometer has not rolled over, and really only has 47,000 miles. The only thing that not original on the cruiser are the vinyl covers on the seats. The original seats were kept, but the vinyl cover was re-upholstered. A new set of wheels was also put on the vehicle when new tires were put on. This cruiser has a very unique story, please see below for details. This FJ40 was used on a farm in Oregon for approx. 8 years, with a plow attached to it. When the farm closed, the FJ40 was retired to a barn, where it was forgotten about for 22 years. The FJ40 sat undisturbed indoors all this time. Two farmers were clearing out the property, when the FJ40 was uncovered, and pulled out of the barn. It was purchased by the next door neighborhood the same day, and towed home to his garage. While this is not a ground up restoration, over the next few months the new owner made some repairs and maintenance to the cruiser, to get it into daily driving shape. Since the cruiser had been inside the whole time, most repairs were very minor. There was practically no rust, with only minor surface blemishes on the rear quarter panel interior. This was fixed, and all the fluids were flushed and replaced. All appropriate mechanical maintenance, and fix up’s were performed to make this vehicle in daily driving condition. Please note: the picture of the seats was taken prior to the re upholstery of the vinyl. There are no tears in the seats. Also, the dash cover was replaced with a parted out original piece, the dash is in excellent condition and has no tears either. The cruiser comes with hard doors, hardtop (with the original headliner!), and rear ambulance doors (rare). I just drove the FJ40 from North of Dallas, to downtown Dallas where I now live in a high rise. The cruiser had no problems at all, even in the 100 degree heat of Texas. I am simply selling this vehicle because in the past year and a half, it has only been driven 107 miles. It just doesn’t get used enough, and doesn’t make sense to have as a 4th vehicle for myself. ***Please Note*** I started this auction with the intention of it being a no-reserve auction. However, I really don't want to sell this vehicle. I searched for approx 6 months browsing the forums, ebay, etc. finding an originial cruiser. The reserve is set for what I've got in it. It's a very reasonable reserve, and is still quite a bit lower than the 'buy it nows' for most the cruisers on ebay. I have the soft top taken off for summer, everything is stored indoors, including the truck. I'll take some pictures of the truck without the top/doors tomorrow, and can send them upon request.
