Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1966 Chevelle Malibu Sedan. I purchased this car last summer with the intention of rebuilding it to a nice weekend car. Once I got started, I realized that I just don't have the time (or the patience) to complete this job myself, so my loss is truly going to be some lucky collector's gain, as I've already purchased/installed over $4k in parts which I will include with the car. I started taking it apart in my garage last October, and it's been there, protected from the elements, ever since. Basically, my wife is telling me that it's time to get it out of there (smile). Anyway, it's a rare, 4-door Malibu and overall, is pretty solid. The odometer reads 70,318 but I don't know if that's the true number. The exterior color is black and the original interior color is powder blue, although the new interior parts are black and white. (I have included a picture of what the new interior will look like, once installed.) The engine is the 283 V8 with the powerglide automatic transmission with column shift. For those of you who know these cars, you'll agree that the 283 was a very underrated powerplant and very durable. It runs great, and has dual exhaust which really sounds nice! (Please note, the dash has been taken apart, so the vehicle cannot be driven right now.) In anticipation of the restoration, in September, I'd had some maintenance done on it, including four new tires, oil change, new shocks, sway bar links, differential service and had the wheel bearings repacked. I have included pictures of how it looked right before I started the rebuild project and how it looks now, sitting in my garage. As you will note, the interior has basically been completely removed, in anticipation of the restoration. All seats, carpet, dash and door panels have been removed. These are all items in which new parts were ordered to replace them. In order to be show ready, it will need new floor pans, but they are definitely fix-able if you don't want to install new ones. As I mentioned above, I have already purchased over $4k in parts that will be included with the car. In addition, I will throw in six repair manuals, worth over $200 that I purchased as well. Most of the parts were purchased from Eckler's, OPGI, Big Tony's or Ausley's. There are also parts from Car Parts Discount and other vendors. These are all high quality parts and by themselves, they are worth more than what I'm listing the car for. Bottom line, I need to sell this car, so I have to do what I have to do to get a deal done. Here's what you'll get, in addition to the Chevelle: (there's a lot here) Parts List included in auction: (These are all new, unless noted, and I have paperwork on all these. I took a picture of all of the boxes in my living room, so you can see just how much stuff is there!) * New tires (already installed) * New shocks (already installed) * Split Bench front seat (the original seat will be included, but it's in bad shape, so I purchased another one, used, from a '67) * OPGI White front and rear vinyl seat covers (premium) * Ausley's interior carpet, sound deadener and sill plate full kit * New Chevelle floormat set * OPGI Rear jute shelf * Eckler's inside door handles (4) * Eckler's door lock knobs * Eckler's 1-speed wiper motor and seals * 10" Rear View Mirror - Day/Night * Pair of seat belt retractors (for front) * Dash Cover / Dash Top - Black * 74" Black Seat Belts - Lift Latch * Front Bumper Filler * Exterior Mirror (for driver's side) * Vinyl Trunk Mat * Car Cover * Trunk Dividers * Trunk Seal / Weatherstrip * Front vent window assembly (driver's and passenger's side) * Black Headliner for 4-door sedan * Headliner molding, front and rear * New dome light * Interior Screw Kit * OPGI Under dash insulation * Interior firewall insulation (for behind steering column) * OPGI rear sail panels * OPGI door panels, front (white/black) * OPGI door panels, rear (white/black) * Dash bezel strip * Eckler's headliner insulation * Eckler's kick panel jute * Eckler's horn button assembly * Eckler's firewall to steering column seal * Wiring diagram * Seat belt boots * Dash panel patch * Headlight switch * Spare tire hold down rod, clamp anchor plate and hold down nut * Chrome coat hooks * Complete lock set and keys (for doors, ignition, trunk and glove box) * Super Muscle Parts radio bezel * 140 watt dual voicecoil front speakers * Heater control unit * Big Tony's speedometer cable * Big Tony's front and rear door panel water shields * Big Tony's rear license brackets As you will note in the pictures, this Chevelle does require some work, but most of the parts that you will need to complete this beauty are all right here. As can be expected with any 44 year-old car, there are some cosmetic/rust issues which give it character, but it's not that far from being a really really nice ride. I have tried to present an accurate representation of the car, both in description and with the pictures. Feel free to email me with any questions and I will be more than happy to answer anything I can. Payment Options / Additional Information: As I mentioned above, my loss will be your gain. My reserve is set below the value of the parts alone, so it's like you'll be getting the car for free! I have also listed this vehicle locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Please feel free to email me with any questions that I can answer for you. The car is located in the Kansas City, MO area so please consider that when bidding, so that you can factor in your shipping/towing costs. As I mentioned above, the car will need to be trailered/towed. I am not arranging shipping for potential buyers, but I am willing to work with you in any way I can. Either way, shipping costs will be the buyer's responsibility. I have title in hand and am ready to go! (Note: I never titled this car in MO after I purchased it, so the title is from TN.) Upon the close of auction, the winning bidder must submit a PayPal deposit of at least $250 within 24 hours of auction end. The remaining balance is due within 6 additional days (7 days of auction close) and can be paid via bank to bank transfer, cash, cashier's check or personal check (vehicle will be released once check clears). Please only bid if you intend to purchase. If you have a feedback rating less than +3, please contact me prior to bidding. As I stated, please contact me with me any questions or concerns prior to bidding, as I am more than willing to handle any inquiries you may have. Check my feedback rating; I have a long positive history on Ebay, and I have done my best to accurately capture this classic car and all of its features. You won't be sorry. Good luck and Happy Bidding! On Jul-19-10 at 15:05:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Hey, everyone. I just reduced the reserve and the buy-it-now price. Bottom line, I really need to sell this Chevelle. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!! On Jul-25-10 at 05:58:36 PDT, seller added the following information:Buy-it-now price reduced! Also, I'd received questions about being able to fit all of the parts inside the Chevelle in order to ship it, and yes, all of the parts will fit inside the car in order to ship. This is a great deal; don't let it pass you by!
