Vehicle Detail
Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham 1965 Top of the line luxury sedan Immaculate and very original This is a brilliant condition Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with 80,000 miles - low enough for a 45 year old car, but to look at, you would be excused in believing it had only 20,000! It has been part of a vast private collection of classic automobiles for the last 20 years. A Californian car when it was in regular use in its day, it is as clean as a whistle – a true survivor. It is primarily an original presenting example that has stunning road-side appeal. The car under-went a high quality repaint some 5 years ago in its original colour. In excess of $15,000 was spent on a mirror smooth finish. The paint is entirely consistent and lustrous without any chips, scratches and certainly no rust issues. The body is laser straight when you look at it at any angle. Chrome is perfect, all in place by correct clips and secures – no unsightly screws or ugly fasteners and also straight and deep in luster. The glass and all external finishes are excellent. The underside is dry and clean. Even though the car has been located in Illinois for several years it has never seen snow or salt or even rain. It is part of a private collection and as such is professionally stored in a climate controlled facility. It has only covered some 1,000 miles in the last 15 odd years. Electrics are good with all windows working as they should - all 8 including the 4 quarter glasses on all doors. Electric front seat fully functional and electric antennae. A/C is nice and cold. The car is fitted with Sentinal lighting which works well. The system automatically turns on the headlights in low light and also dips the high-beam facing oncoming traffic and when following behind another vehicle. The interior is excellent. The seats are without any signs of wear or marks. Headlining is literally like new and carpets excellent. There are no cracks in the dash. The wood accents throughout (which are real veneers on this model) are good although the driver’s door shows some early signs of lifting at the edges. It is altogether there and not damaged so in good condition. Mechanically, the car is good with an impressive maintenance history. By example, some $4,500 was spent in the last year on "all-up" maintenance service which included a new master cylinder and booster. In the last month, $2,500 was spent on rebuilding the original transmission. The air conditioner was just recently serviced and blows very cold. Exhaust and tyres are good. (The engine has an Edelbrock carburetor fitted which provides better efficiency in performance. The original 4-barrel Rochester is included in the sale). The car has some $35,000 invested in it over the last 10 years. When I purchased the car, I was going to use it for wedding work and had a colleague arrange for the "studio" photos for promotional purposes. I was overseas at the time of purchasing the car so never actually saw her before buying. I saw the studio photos first and I simply thought the photographer did a great job. However, when I returned and saw the car was AS NICE in real-life, I decided it was "TOO nice" to be used for wedding work and so it became part of my collection. (The photos in this advert include many high resolution shots I took only the day before listing so you can rest assured of the current quality and condition). This Cadillac Fleetwood sedan is gorgeous and, simply; a very cool and delightful highway cruiser. It is very quiet and and smooth to drive. You won’t find a better Cadillac classic for your collection. Please feel free to make a sensible offer as she is to be sold! ~~ I am always reticent in making claims on “show standard” so I prefer to err on the side of conservatism by declaring this Cadillac as a 9-out-of-10 driver. Having said that, you could, without any doubt, drive this Caddy AS-IS is to your next show or meet with complete confidence and pride. ~~ Click HERE to see a full set of photos! Come for a test drive!(be patient for the video to down-load) ~~oo00oo~~ This Cadillac is part of my private collection. I am not a broker or retail car dealer; I am a professional car collector of some 30 years with considerable experience and knowledge of classic cars (primarily British cars). I take a lot of pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer, and you are the winning bidder; please understand you have entered a binding contract. A $2000.00 deposit (non-refundable) will be required within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal. The balance of funds are required within 7 days of the close of the auction and must be provided by cashier’s check or bank wire. I cannot accept PayPal for the balance unless you are willing to meet the cost of transfer fees. Full payment must be made (and payments cleared) before the title and/or the vehicle is released. If all the funds are not received as indicated above, I reserve the right the keep the deposit and resell the vehicle by re-listing or to another bidder. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements on a worldwide basis but the winning bidder takes full responsibility for pickup and/or shipping and at his cost. As a collector and experienced restorer of classic cars, I make every effort to bring my cars to a very high standard but the very nature of any older car is such that it is not always possible to attend to every single item, or perhaps I may have inadvertently overlooked an item. Further, a feature or function that is working perfectly one moment, may decide to play-up the next. For this reason it is necessary for the following condition: The vehicle is being sold "as-is/where-is" with no warranty expressed, written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are made with reasonable judgment and all efforts are made to ensure fair assessment and accuracy but they are for descriptive and identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be responsible for errors in description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, unforeseen imperfection, defect or damage. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have satisfied himself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects at the buyer’s request prior to the close of the auction. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. I can hold the vehicle up to 30 days while you arrange shipping but you must immediately insure it. I will not bear any responsibility for any costs including storage, transportation, or repair after the close of the auction. Also, you must remember that this is a classic +/-45 year old vehicle, and while it is up to you, I would not consider “driving it across the country”. I highly recommend you have it professionally shipped in an enclosed transporter to your location. PLEASE; IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS, DO NOT BID. ~~oo00oo~~
