This is a NO RESERVE auction for a car that needs work. Lets be realistic about listings like this one. Please do not expect to buy this car and not spend another dollar to make it right. It will need repairs to make it reliable and roadworthy. If you do not have the skills or extra funds for repairs, then this car is NOT FOR YOU.
This is a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus LXi sedan. The exterior is Gold Metallic and it is decent. The paint still has some gloss, but there are cosmetic issues. The hood is dented and has some rust, headlamp capsules are "cloudy" and there are numerous dings/scrapes/scratches to be found.
The interior looks presentable, the leather buckets are still in good condition and there is lots of equipment here. The power windows/locks/radio are working. The air conditioning was blowing warm, so we added a few cans of Freon and it began to blow cold. There is very likely a leak and by the time the new owner takes delivery, it could have all leaked out.
The tires are non matching with tread depths from 5/32" to 8/32".
The majority of the issues with this car are related to the 2.5 V6 engine. The engine does smoke upon start up and continues to do so while running. Our service department looked over this Cirrus and it was determined that the distributor is leaking oil internally, there are leaks from the valve covers, crankshaft seal, rear main seal, and oil pan. All the brakes are good, fronts have 10mm thickness and rears are at 8mm.
If you do not have the ability to repair this car or know someone who can, please do not become involved with the bidding process. The leaks will need to be evaluated and the cause of the smoke will have to be found and repaired. The car does run and drive and the prior owner was using this car daily until traded.
The Carfax report is clean with no collision history. We do not subscribe to other history reporting agencies so we base our info on the accuracy of Carfax.
