Vehicle Detail
This 1957 Studebaker truck is in pretty nice and complete condition for it's age, and had been coverted for moving trailer houses (which makes it rare). It has a v-8 engine, and I beleive a five speed transmission. I had sold it on ebay a few years ago, but the buyer never came through, so I thought I'd try to get it running. I changed the oil, spark plugs, and points and condensor. I don't have a key for the switch or a good way to get under it so we tried to hot wire it and pull start it, but didn't get it to go. It may need a new coil or? But I don't have a good place to work on or get under it, or I would have tried to get the starter hooked up and diagnose it more. But then someone stole the radiator, and I kind of quit on it. The engine is still free. The frame can be lengthened or shortened (there apparently was three driveshafts originallly). I only have the one driveshaft. The door windows will need to be replaced. And the tires aren't in very good condition. The odometer shows about 33,000 miles, and I guess if it had this conversion done back in the day, that could be actual (but I don't know). I don't have a title. And I had a vehicle title search done at the local DMV, and they found the last owner to have a title, and he's deceased. But I'll include that information, and you may be able to get more information, and get a title. The cab corners (mainly the one on the drivers side) are rusted out (it's underneath and in back of the cab where they cut out for the conversion, see pictures). I may be gone the weekend of September 4th and 5th, but should be around otherwise. The hood has a little rust through on the front. This is a very rare piece and would be an awesome restoration project. "DON'T WAIT! THIS ONE IS GOING FAST!"
