Vehicle Detail

This Car has been in my Garage since 1986. Was working for a Paving contractor back then and went to do a job and this car was sitting in the driveway with a tarp on it. We had to push it on the grass before we could pave. Anyhow found out it was the Lady's Husbands car who had died . She didn't want to sell at first but called me and we made a deal. The car is just how I Got it. It is a 283 with powerglide. It runs and drives. Car appears to have never been hit. All the body work was done but appears to b e minumal The biggest repair I se is a patch panel on driver side lower corner behind wheel. You can see this from inside the trunk. The interior is excellent which I couldn't beleive at the time. I don't know if it was redone but looks just like original 62 upholstery with chrome piping and buttons? There is no top on car but rack is there and it goes up and down. The floors were patched with metal plate and not floor pans. You can see this from underneath. The inside of trunk is rusted tru behind rear wheels from water being tossed up and that will have to be repaired. The rest of trunk isn't too bad with one visible hole about 2 inch in diameter. Inside the engine compartment is rust free except for battery rack but I have a used one to replace it with. The tires all show dry rot. All stainless trim is there and in great shape. All glass is there and in above average condition. Even the Chrome lower window track is in great shape. These always rot out. The rear bumper is off but I have it and brackets. The Gas tank has a leak but I have a new one to replace it with along with all new lines to Carb. You may need some window and door handles but I have 95% of everything. Carpet is destroyed from getting wet under the original tarp. I Think I have a new set but will have to look. Really wanted to fix it up but never had enough money and I used to ride the kids around the neighborhood in the summer and they loved it. There is no title to the Car. The Woman couldn't find it and she didn't know who her husband bought it from. The Car was last on the road in 1980 with a Pennsylvania Inspection sticker. You can get replacement Titles for cars this old. This Car definitaly needs to be restored. I haven't seen any Chevy Convertables in my area for awhile. We are getting ready to downsize to a smaller place and this will have to go. I haven't had it running in about 7 years but should be no problem. No Computers here. Points and plugs. Man i miss these simple cars. I have a low reasonable reserve on this car. Someone can bring her back to Glory with a little work.
