Vehicle Detail

This is a one of a kind vehicle. The 7.3L powerstroke diesel has under 82k miles. I purchased this Ambulance 3 years ago. It was in service outside of DC. It was retired, and replaced with a newer model. It was originally built buy wheeled coach. When I purchased it I spent thousands of dollars updating the look, feel, and performance. First, all of the ambulance graphics were removed. I then had the entire vehicle painted black. I replaced the steel wheels with 19.5 inch aluminum alloys with heavy duty tires. The wall was removed between the front seats and the rear of the truck to make access from front to back much easier. One of the main issues with the E-series vans with diesels is the lack of an intercooler. Without an intercooler, the engine gets to hot underload to tow. For this reason, I installed a polished front mount intercooler behind a billet grille. This has allowed me to pull my car trailer with full size trucks on it, about twice a month, for three years with no overheating or exhaust gas temperature problems. I installed a two rear view cameras to assist in hooking up the trailer as well as monitoring the load. I built a panel for the center console for to house a cd player, egt gauge, trans temp gauge, and boost gauge. I have a brand new auto meter pillar pod to hold the new oil pressure gauge, and two additional gauges could be added. I also installed an Edge piggyback ecm to increase performance and towing capabilities. In the rear I installed industrial rubber tile flooring. A custom center console was built to go in between the black bucket seats I installed. New carpet was put into the front of the truck, as well as new trim plastics on the steps coming into the truck. In the rear I installed a rear conversion van seat that fols into a bed, as well as a futon. We used this when taking off road vehicles on excursions as well as some fishing trips. The back cabinet area would make a great kitchen, or place to hold tools or camping gear. I upgraded the radio with a Pioneer CD player with Infinity front component 6.5” speakers. An additional audio system with subwoofers and amplifiers could be easily added, the truck is already wired to do so. A custom made sub enclosure is included that will hold two twelve inch subs. This vehicle has served it’s purpose very well, and would be great for a toy hauler, to pull a race car, buggy, or show car, or for a contractor, plumber or electrician. We are downsizing our business and will no longer have a need for it. Everything is functional on this vehicle, however, there are a couple of flaws that should be noted. 1. the driver's side seat needs to have the bottom recovered. It was a brand new seat that has only been in the truck for about 10,000 miles, but wouldn't last that long. I am a little disappointed, I think it should have held up a little better than that. An interior shop can recover the bottom of the seat to match the top, I have been quoted $150. 2. The factory oil pressure gauge jumps around all over the place, which causes the oil light to come on. This is not an indication of the actual oil pressure, I installed an auto meter oil pressure gauge so that accurate monitoring of the oil pressure is possible. I was going to disconnect the factory gauge and sending unit, but discovered this would not allow the cruise control to work. For this reason I left the faulty factory gauge "working" and in place. I am selling this vehicle recommending local pickup, but I will release it to a shipping company if shipping is arranged by the buyer. The vehicle is as wide as a 1 ton truck, and weighs 10,000 lbs. I would drive it across country without question. I will assist in picking up the buyer at PTI or CLT airport. Payment must be made within 5 days of auction end, with a $1000 deposit via paypal or credit card over the phone within 24 hours. I am starting this auction at about 1/3 of my initial investment in this truck, WITHOUT A RESERVE. I intend on selling this vehicle, please do not bid if you are not a serious buyer. I reserve the right to end the auction early to a local buyer if a bid has not been placed. Once a bid is placed, I will sell to the highest bidder.
