Vehicle Detail
Up for auction here is our second 1970 Buick Riviera. After the first one, we purchased this one with intent of building a his and hers set. A few other cars later, and it's time to let one go and focus on just one. This car has the 455 c.i. engine. This was the first year of the Buick 455 engine paired with the Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission. 370 HP and 510 ft-lbs of torque make this Riv the one to own if you like power. The 70 Riv was the end of the Second Generation Riviera body style prior to the Boattail and was the only year with the fender skirts. This car was put into primer prior to us purchasing it a few years ago and is ready for you to pick your favorite color. The interior is all there, but may need recovered based on your taste. Power drivers seat works, but motor really should be rebuilt (or just the tracks cleaned up). One of the rear power windows has stopped working. Floors and trunk are solid. I have suspect of a passenger's side front fender and hood repair and for that reason, also included with the auction is a spare hood and passenger front fender so if you are going to restore this car, you don't have to mess with someone's old bondo job. Also, the wheel covers (hubcaps) on the car as pictured are not part of the auction. I do have a full set and spare (5 total) of the standard 1970 wheel covers that are correct for this model year that are in great shape and will go with the car. The engine starts and runs great and transmission shifts where it should. We drove this car about twice a month during the summer for the prior two years, but opted not to renew tags this year and drive our #1 Riviera instead. This car needs someone to give it a paint job, an interior recovering, and to be driven 100-200 miles every weekend from spring to fall. Besides the above, if you need other questions answered, please ask.
