1962 409/409 SS Impala This is a factory 409/409 impala. We got this car in 2003 un-restored. It has no rust california car, we have redone the interior, painted the dash, we pulled the motor and transmission out. we put new bearings and seals in the motor, (they are all standard). It still has the solid lifter cam, the original pistons, crank, rods, heads. We rebuilt the carburators (that looked like they have never been off the car), put new seals into the transmission. We painted the engine compartment and detailed it up. We re-painted the car to red, the bumpers, trim & chrome was all removed to be painted, not a cheap paint job. (car was originally a ermine white). put motor and transmission back into car. This car runs good. The body has never been off the frame. The car has been painted for almost 7 years and has a couple blemishes (nothing major), This car has won at many car shows. This car looks and sounds good, has the factory "header" exhaust manifolds, has the t-10 transmission, the drive shaft has brand new u-joints and carrier bearing and has been balanced. Car drives smooth and rides nice. The car has the correct "short" fan shroud, the tach mounted on column (this is a early '62 car so the tach has no rev limit), the transmitter that mounts on the fender well for the tach is missing.
