Up for sale is this rare 1984 Ascot VT500. These bikes were only made for a few years and are becoming increasingly hard to find. It was a special edition bike based on the Shadow 500 but with a more sporting shape inspired by the Flat-track bikes of the day. Styling wise it differs from the shadow with the raised seat and squared off headlight and dashboard. This bike in particular is a good example of the breed. It has been well maintained and runs perfectly. Anyone who is familiar with the Honda shadow will know that the 500 twin powerplant is as close to bullet proof as an engine can get. It has the same shaft drive as the shadow as well making it a nice low maintenance commuter or beginner bike. If it’s a beginner’s bike you are after you would have to look pretty hard to find a better bike than this. It has a comfortable seat and wide bars. This combined with the easy revving and quiet v-twin makes for a very stable and dependable experience. As far as those looking for a retro bike, this will get you noticed! Whenever I ride around on it people are asking what kind of bike it is or reminiscing about when they or a friend used to own one. It definitely stands out from the normal crowd of 500cc bikes! Most of the features that made this bike different are present and accounted for. The wheels, hand controls and even exhaust are all original, something that is becoming increasingly hard to find on 20 something year old bikes!
