This auction is for a one-owner 2007 Mercedes Benz S65 AMG. This is one of the fastest, most powerful, most expensive Mercedes Benz available. The 6.0L V-12 has two turbochargers which allow this hand-built engine to produce 604 horsepower and an enormous 738lbs of torque. This enables the S65 to sprint from 0-60 mph in a mind boggling 4.2 seconds. All while getting better gas mileage than it's slower, less powerful cousin, the S63 AMG. This sedan has a beautiful pewter exterior with the exclusive black leather, which is softer and more plush than the regular leather on Mercedes models. With a starting base price of $181,500, this luxurious sedan has all of the bells and whistles. While there isn't much more you can add to an S-class costing $180,000+, there was a very short list of options. This top ranging sedan has the few available options offered to the exclusive buyer's of the S65. Distronic Plus has been added to this vehicle, a system which assists in braking when a collision might occur on the roadway. Distronic Plus has been proven by Mercedes to reduce head-to-tail accidents by as much as 36%. The total retail price for this S65 AMG was an astonishing $187,750! With only 477 units produced in 2007, this sedan is rarer than a Ferrari F430 or Lamborghini Gallardo, but at less than half of the original price. Please read below for more information on the S65 AMG: The Engine: In 2007 Mercedes Benz offered their largest, most powerful S-class sedan ever built. The S65 AMG. A 604-horsepower, 6.0-liter, twin-turbocharged, hand-built V12. It teams up with a sport-calibrated five-speed automatic transmission to deliver a crushing 738 pound-feet of torque to the sedan's 20-inch rear tires. This amount of power launches the S65 from 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, almost an entire second faster than the S600, and still .3 seconds faster than the S63 AMG. Interestingly though, while the S65 AMG has the largest engine of any S-class model, it boasts better fuel economy than its smaller rival, the S63 AMG. The S65's twin-turbo V-12 is rated at 13 city/ 20 hwy mpg. Ironically the smaller-engined S63 carries a worse 11 city/17 highway mpg EPA rating. The Stopping Power: The perforated discs are huge, measuring 15.4 inches in front and 14.4 inches in rear. Eight-piston calipers clamp down on the front discs, four-piston calipers on the rears. This enables the S65 to defy reason and stop the 5081-pound S65 from 70 mph in 154 feet, a stop several feet shorter than Mercedes' outrageous 617-hp superstar, the $455,750 SLR, can muster. The Suspension: If you were to look underneath this car you would find an AMG-tuned four-link front suspension and a five-arm multilink rear suspension with huge antiroll stabilizer bars at both ends, plus a computerized Active Body Control system that reduces body roll by 86% The Interior: Apart from the Mercede's exclusive soft leather added to this vehicle, the S65's list of options truly seems to go on forever.
