Vehicle Detail
1972 MERCURY COUGAR CONVERTIBLEup for auction is this great part of Automotive history. This car is a survivor, spending many long years sitting in a barn in New England waiting for the right automotive surgeon to get back on the road. I would say cardiologist but I think its heart is good in that the engine runs fine but needs its fuel lines and maybe tank replaced. When you pour gas in the carburetor the engine runs good, no knocks or smoke. It is a 351 Cleveland motor, automatic. The car as never been molested. The interior is good with only one small hole the size of a dime half way up on the outside of the drivers bucket seat. All the rest of the interior looks close to new, even the carpet looks great. The seats slide fine and the sun visors are like new. Radio is the stock optional AM/FM , power top, grab bar on dash, oh yes, AC and power windows. Yes, the power windows work.According to the dash it is a Cougar XR7, whatever that means. Also the black top having been inside for many many years looks like new except for dust.yes, there is some rust but not bad, mostly confined to the inner rockers areas. What I could pull back of the rugs, the floors seemed solid. The trunk floor is solid but some cancer in the trunk lid itself.Would make a great Saturday nigh cruiser for little money. Oh, yes, I think I did mention it was a convertible. You know, the ones your buddies wish they had. Ebay makes you list miles on a car but I would expect this car to be 109125 miles but can' tell since it is a 5 digit odometer, it may also only be 09125 looking at its condition.Hope this goes to a good home.New Hampshire is not a title state but I do have the registration that you will be able to get a title in other states. The picture of the engine shows some green on the car but its not, for some reason my camera adds green and rose close to pictures.Questions, Call Craig at 727-364-5341
