Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1968 Mustang GT fastback. I am selling this for a friend. He bought the car a couple of years ago with intentions of returning it back to stock condition, but has decided he has too many cars. The car is just as he bought it except he removed the nitrous which had been installed. The engine is supposed to be correct, but has cast iron World Product heads, headers, and aluminum intake. The transmission has been changed to a C6, and the rearend is supposed to still have the 3.25 to 1 gears, with possibly a locker in it . The car runs and drives and would be a great rolling restoration candidate. The interior has Mach 1 seats, a Shelby style roll bar with belts, fold down rear seat, and a trap door. The front seats need to be recovered, and the carpet needs to be replaced. The sheetmetal is in pretty good condition. All that I've found is a scrape on the left quarter, and a small dimple on top of the right quarter. It also has a hole punched in the trunk where the nitrous line was, and a couple of holes where the firewall and toe board meet next to the A/C drain, that I believe were there for the nitrous. These would be very easy to repair. The only rust issues I've found are some bubbling just below the the right side air extractor, and a hole between the gas tank and the taillight panel. The trunk also has some surface rust, where the previous owner had stored some batteries. There is also some bubbling at the front corners of both doors and both quarters right behind the rear wheels. There is a little rust at the passenger side front crossmember under the core support. Both front floor pans are showing a few pin holes from below. Also included are the original style steel wheels. More pictures are available, or if you want something specific let me know. If you have any questions, your welcome to call me at 903-880-7471 any time before 9 pm CST. Also depending on your location we could arrange for delivery. Reserve the right to end auction early as car is for sale locally.
