Vehicle Detail
YOWZZAA!! Here you go for all you retro fans, my vintage style custom 69 chrysler. I just finished this project, I have driven it around a bit only the last couple days. First of all it started out as a really clean rust free california 69 New Yorker. I bought it as a parts car but it was such a clean good old car I decided to use it for an experience building a vintage style custom. I think it tuned out pretty cool, car is not perfect but looks very nice, runs and drives like new! Paint-full on lace, flake and candy panel job just like they did back in the day. Stock original turquois color jazzed up with better metallflake, candy tangerine over the lace with a candy apple red fade on the border. Body mods-nosed, decked and mostly shaved sides. Kept the door handles on it, dont like getting locked out of my own car. Front and rear from a 69 300. Dash and all wiring from a really nice 69 Imperial a friend was going to demo derby. Interior-seats done with NOS material exactly as the factory did it. Really nice original dash, new carpet, headliner, restored door panels etc. Interior is very very nice. Dash has factory am fm 8 track unit in it. Has factory floor mount cassete unit with a modern stereo CD unit in it. Polk audio 6x9 speakers in the back deck where they should be. 12 inch Polk audio subwoofer in the trunk with an 800 watt kenwood amp. Fairly awesome sound system. 90% of the chrome is newly replated, 90% of the stainless has been polished. New windshield. All new body rubbers and weatherstripping. Engine is a 440 from a low miles 69 300, I disassembled it, inspected and it was spotless inside, very clean with no sludge. Cylinder bores looked like new with zero ridge or wear visible. Standard bore. Rod bearings looked like new. Valve jobbed the heads, installed hard exhaust seats. Engine was cleaned, all new gaskets etc and painted. Factory HP TNT manifolds installed. All new accesories, fuel pump, water pump, alt etc. Transmission was cleaned, flushed, serviced and resealed. AC system has new drier, new hose seals, NOS heater contol valve and NOS control switch. Headlite doors work as new. Wheels are new Cragar ss, 15x7 front and 15x8 rear. Tyres are new BFG 235-70-15 front and huge 285-70-15 rear. New front ball joints, control arm bushings, rotors, calipers, bearings, master cyl etc. Fresh alignment. New 2.5 inch full dual exhaust with equalizer by Ed Hanson. As with most old car projects, this car still has a few things to sort out: The speedo goes to 20mph and stops. This car has sequential tail lite turn sigs like a late 60s mercury cougar. Complicated system and I have not figured out how to make it work yet. AC system has been charged but still not working properly so needs some sorting out. The reserve is very low for what you will get here. A nice 340 Duster will cost you way more and is a piece of junk compared to this rig. This car runs beautiful, looks & sounds super cool and drives like it is new. The car has a california salvage title. I was told from a lite accident decades ago. It had no major body damage, just a lite dent in the driver rear quarter I fixed easily. California insurance companys are super paranoid and salvage title pretty much everything that gets a scratch. I am sure I forgot some things and there will be questions. Give me an email or call. Lee 619-507-3160
