Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1973 Datsun 620 Pickup Short Bed. I am the 3rd owner. The truck was in an accident a few months ago, and therefor is a SALVAGE TITLE. The damage is all in the passenger side front end. No damage was done to the steel frame, but the right front suspension, steering rods, and wheel are all damaged. The hood, right fender, core support, and headlight assembly are quite mangled. On the mechanical side, the only parts that suffered were the battery, radiator, and some wiring to the lights. The engine is almost %100 salvageable. The right suspension is fine, but the steering is out of sync. The windshield is cracked, but was before the accident. The drivers door has a large dent in it but still has good glass, opens, closes, and locks as it should. The passenger door has good glass, no dents and opens, closes and locks as it should. The wiring harness is still in good shape not counting the severed battery cables and headlight connectors on the right side. The cabin only sustained damage on the right side where the wheel pushed up into the well and bent the chassis. The dash has only one or two cracks in it and could be used again. The bench seat is still functional but has tears in the vinyl. The truck was inspected prior to the accident and passed fine. The rear window glass and rubber are newer looking. Before the accident, the truck was running greatly. New ignition components including plugs, wires, dizzy cap, and rotor. The carburetor was cleaned and rebuilt and the truck was getting about 25MPG. Everything from the exhaust manifold back was new pipe and muffler. Oil changes every couple months, and the air filter is still very clean. Fuel tank was in good condition, and are hard to find these days. Fuel pump looks brand new, and the fuel filter is crystal clean. Only known issue were slight oil leaks out of the oil pan and pump area. I also replaced a few fuel hoses that were worn. Finding the gears in the trans was difficult, but engaged properly and never jumped out of gear. The best part about the truck is the lack of rust. The floors in the cab were solid, the area behind the seat had no issues and the bed, although having a lot of dents, was rust free. Even the rocker panes were exempt from rust as was the tailgate and the frame had only surface scale. The shocks were old, but worked properly front and rear. The differential was quiet and the previous owner replaced the gear oil last year. The truck comes with lowering blocks in the back, and baby moon style wheels, only one is bent, 3 fairly new tires. Also comes with a camper shell not shown in pictures. I was planning on swapping a larger bore 2.0L Datsun engine with a 5spd trans before the accident. I have almost everything needed to do so, and I will include the extra engine and a host of new parts for extra cash. This truck has plenty of hard to find parts and could be a fantastic parts truck for someone with a good starting point truck. Also being in St. Louis, MO, this type truck is rarely seen and isn't too far for someone to come pick it up. THE TRUCK WILL NEED TO BE SHIPPED OR TOWED AT THE BUYERS EXPENSE. IT WILL SHIP SAFELY, ALL THE GAS HAS BEEN DRAINED, AND THE BATTERY CABLES HAVE BEEN CUT. Winning bidder has 48 hours to supply a $50 down payment for final sale. I will accept Paypal, Cash, or money orders. I am moving to college and I need this truck gone, so if I don't get a buyer, please contact me with a reasonable offer and I will try my best to get you what you want. Thanks to all and happy bidding!
