Here is your opportunity to buy an Original California Blue Plated Volkswagen Beetle Convertible. This California car was a solid straight car to start. The next step. The process needed to get a classic back on the road and be confident you have chosen the right vehicle. This is the largest task when buying a classic car. The amount of work and time involved in this process is extensive, long, tedious and costly. All the time wanting the project to be completed so you can enjoy the summer sun and fun. And is the cost ever going to end in the process is the question we continue to ask. Even as a professional, building a car I come up with this question often. Are we done yet? Has the cost stopped. Here is a car undergone all the below items to bring it to its present condition. Something not typically on the market directly after completing the process. The work was done by a gentleman who is a Master V.W. mechanic who builds cars for a living. He does complete a couple cars a year on his own to resell them. This is one he decided to do this year for summer. Save thousands by not getting stuck in a project. Not to mention making sure the car is done by a gentleman using the proper materials to bring a car back to its original state it came from the factory. Engine: Original engine, 1600 dual port. rebuilt by builder to original specs mechanically and cosmetically., line bored case, reground original crank and cam, new pistons and cylinders, rebuilt heads, new bearings, push rod tubes, all seals, oil pump, new fuel pump, New 34 pict-3 carburetor, coil, points, condenser, plugs, wires, etc. all German engine tin cleaned and painted, new German exhaust system and tail pipes, solid original heater boxes., hooked up and working. Engine has less then a thousand miles on it, just re torqued heads, adjusted valves, and changed oil. Also installed new clutch and pressure plate. Drivetrain: IRS transmission, low mileage original trans, taken apart, inspected, cleaned, painted, and re-sealed, new drive flange seals, and all gaskets. CV joints were replaced by previous owner and have no signs of wear, Brakes: Complete new brake system. New dual circuit master cylinder, new brake hoses, new wheel cylinders, new shoes, brake light switch, etc. Steering and suspension: new shocks in rear, new struts installed in front, new lower ball joints, all control arm bushings replaced, tie rod ends, and recently aligned at alignment shop. new set of 165r15 Kuhmo tires. Body: Original California car, body has no rust on it, even the convertible support rails are solid and rust free. The floor pan, rear battery tray sections, on both sides, at sometime in the past were replaced but are solid and water tight. all body rubber has been replaced , new bumpers, new tail light lenses, turn signal lenses, headlight chrome, new chrome body trim, all fender beading, running boards, etc. car has new beauty trim rings on wheels, with original German hubcaps. Top: Black T.M.I. convertible top, new top padding set, and T.M.I. headliner, New rear window frame (wooden) installed at that time with original Sekurit glass, and new windshield rubber with chrome trims installed front and rear. The windshield is new but has a small chip in it. all top frame rubber has been replaced with new W.C..M rubber, as has all side and 1/4 window rubber scrapers, and wedge pieces. original door handles and ignition switch operate off the original key. door and 1/4 top aluminum trims are original, but have had the felts and scraper rubbers replaced. Interior: new T.M.I. dark blue seats covers, new seat padding sets, matching door panel kit, new Sewfine carpet kit, new dash pad, new convertible boot cover in color matched to interior as well. New 3 point Wolfsburgwest seat belts up front, original seat belts in the rear. original plastic Steering wheel has been replaced with earlier style complete with horn ring and new Wolfsburg crest horn button. deck lid has been replaced with '71 style deck lid to make the car look classier as well. Trunk has new Wolfsburg west hardboard style black cover throughout. Gas tank has been removed, cleaned, and all fuel lines replaced. Car has seen about 700 miles since fully assembled, runs and drives excellent, all electrical is in working order, and will comfortably do 75+ on the freeway.
