Vehicle Detail

***I don't know why the pictures are showing up so small on the listing as they are a high resolution, so by request I will be happy to email the full complement of bidders. NO RESERVE!!! Up for sale is this 1983 Mercedes Benz 240D. This is an all original car with 193,050 miles on the clock and still going strong. These diesels are bulletproof and the car runs well and with proper care and maintenance it should have plenty of useful life left. This car cranks up on the first try with no hesitation whatsoever. The interior of the car shows amazingly well for any care of this age, especially one with this many miles. The only blemish to the maroon leather seat upholstery is a 3-4" tear on the driver's side seat which is pictured. The headliner, carpeting and door panels are all in very good condition. There are a couple of loose dash moldings (particularly on the glove box door) with one small piece missing from the passenger side of the dash but it should be easily obtainable. This car has power windows all of which function smoothly. There is a moon roof which, when you press the button clearly sounds like it has power and you can feel the mechanism trying to move but it appears to be stuck. I did not want to mess with it and damage something, but I strongly suspect that it just needs to be freed up and possibly lubricated. There is an AM/FM radio which works fine, and air conditioning which blows but probably needs to be recharged because it blows warm. The cream exterior obviously shows more wear than the interior. It appears to be all original with no crash damage or repair. Besides the fading and the few spots of rust which are photographed, some of the rubber moldings are tired and either need to be removed or replaced. The rust is most notable on the bottom front of the front fender, rear passenger fender lip, and front of the passenger side rocker. Please note that the missing driver's door belt molding and the passenger side rocker molding are included in the trunk of the car. The trunk also contains the original spare and jack under the trunk mat. I have 43 shots of this car of which I am only able to list 24; the additional shots comprise mostly additional exterior and underside shots- send me a message through ebay with your email address and I will be happy to forward them. This auction is being started at $300 with NO RESERVE and it will sell. We have represented it as faithfully and accurately as possible, but please be sure to inspect the photographs closely, ask questions and ask for the additional photos PRIOR to bidding. If you are located near central Connecticut I would be happy to set up a viewing appointment. This car is sold with its Connecticut issued title; buyer is responsible for payment and shipping within 7 days of auction close. Thank you for viewing and good luck!
