Vehicle Detail

I am currently selling my 1974 Datsun 260z because I have landed a job in San Francisco. I just graduated from UCSB and have no place for the car since parking one car is hard enough in the city, two might be ridiculous. I don't have the space to work on the car as well. The car was my project car. I purchased the car in 2006 as a project car to work on. I believe I am the third owner of the car, records may show four owners, but the 3rd would be my dad and the 4th would be me since I bought the car when I was 17. The car is sold AS IS and does need restoration work. The car runs amazing; I had dual webber carbs put in to help with that and all of the oil ports have been cleaned. With this work the entire cylinder head was soaked and cleaned. A complete tune-up of the car was performed. The pedal return spring is a little rusted and should be replaced soon, but that is a $3 part. The clutch was replaced before I purchased the car and I put maybe 3000 miles on the car in the time I owned it. The transmission works great, but 5th gear has popped out on me before. Doesn't seem to be a large problem. I have driven the car on longer drives as well. The car recently drove from Santa Barbara, CA to Highland, CA (about 160 miles) and I had zero problems with it along the way. The car always starts and only requires the choke on cold starts. The dash board is in amazing condition, but the center console panel has some cracks. The seats look brand new and are not factory seats. Centerline Auto Drag rims on the car, these are rare and the wheels are lightweight and strong. All of the gauges work, but the clock. The temperature sensor need to be reattached. The two lead wires from the sensor in the engine were cut from the clip, but the sensor still work when tested with different water temperatures and a multimeter. The car needs a new paint job. No dings on the car, but the driver door has a crack by the handle and it looks like a past owner bumped a car or two with the front; the front of the hood looks a little dinged. The driver door's inside handle works but the exterior handles does not. A piece of the linkage is missing but can be ordered from Black Dragon. The panel has been discarded. I have installed two 6x9" speakers behind the seats and a CD player. I tested the blower motor at auto zone and it works, but the relay needs to be changed for the fan so the AC can work. The car does come with a Chilton for the Z series and the factory manual for the early Z's. The factory manual will tell you whatever you want to do any type of maintenance or R&R. One emblem is missing as well, the other isn't shown because I didn't want someone stealing the second. Those are all the major details to the car, please feel free to email me at michaelwatson@umail.ucsb.edu with any questions about the car or for further pictures. I am moving to San Francisco on Tuesday. It is still possible to check out the car at my parents house. The car will be garaged. To arrange a visit, please use ebay contact to get in touch with my mom who would be happy to show you the car. I would not be selling the car if I wasn't moving to San Francisco. I have put a lot of work into the car over the years and I would rather see someone else enjoy it than have me put it in storage for a year or more. The car is amazing to drive and has never let me down.
